Beau McCoy (born November 12,1980) is an American politician who served as a member of the Nebraska Legislature for the 39th district from 2009 to 2017.
McCoy was born in Burlington,Colorado,has been active in the Republican Party since his teens. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in leadership,from Bellevue University,where he was the national committeeman for the Nebraska chapter of the Young Republicans. [1]
Prior to entering politics,McCoy worked as a home improvement contractor. He was elected to the Nebraska legislature in 2008 and re-elected in 2012. During his tenure,he served as vice chair of the Banking,Commerce and Insurance Committee and chair of the Committee on Committees. McCoy was also vice chair of the Council of State Governments and chair of the Midwestern Council of State Governments. [2]
McCoy was a Republican candidate in the 2014 Nebraska gubernatorial election,placing third in the Republican primary. [3]
McCoy identifies himself as pro-life. According to McCoy,he "support[s] our Second Amendment rights",believes in the death penalty,and opposes "in-state tuition benefits for illegal aliens." [4]
Michael Owen Johanns is an American attorney and politician who served as a United States Senator from Nebraska from 2009 to 2015. He served as the 38th governor of Nebraska from 1999 until 2005,and was chair of the Midwestern Governors Association in 2002. In 2005,he was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as the Secretary of Agriculture,where he served from 2005 to 2007,becoming the fourth Nebraskan to hold that position.

Jack Raymond Reed Sr. was an American businessman and politician. Born in Tupelo,Mississippi,he served in the United States Army during World War II and earned degrees from Vanderbilt University and New York University before returning home to help run his family's retail business. He later assumed control over their department store after his father's death in 1956. Active in local civic affairs,he chaired the Mississippi Economic Council from 1963 to 1964 and became a vocal proponent for public education. Appointed to the Mississippi Board of Education in 1984,he chaired the body until he decided to run for the office of governor of Mississippi in 1987 as a moderate Republican. Reed lost the general election but performed better than any Republican gubernatorial candidate had in Mississippi in the 20th century to that point. In his later life he continued to advocate for public education. He died in 2016.
