Beaver Bottoms is a valley in northeasternBeaver and southeastern Millard counties, Utah, United States. [1]

A valley is a low area between hills or mountains typically with a river running through it. In geology, a valley or dale is a depression that is longer than it is wide. The terms U-shaped and V-shaped are descriptive terms of geography to characterize the form of valleys. Most valleys belong to one of these two main types or a mixture of them, at least with respect to the cross section of the slopes or hillsides.

Beaver County, Utah County in the United States

Beaver County is a county located in west central Utah, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 6,629. Its county seat and largest city is Beaver. The county was named for the abundance of beavers in the area.

Description

The valley heads at 38°28′00″N113°00′30″W / 38.46667°N 113.00833°W / 38.46667; -113.00833 north of Milford and lies between the San Francisco Mountains to the west and the Mineral Mountains to the east. It is drained to the north by the Beaver River through the mouth of the valley south of the Cricket Mountains and north of Black Rock. Cove Creek drains into the Bottoms from the east and sinks into the sands there before it can join the Beaver River.

The Escalante Desert is to its southwest, the Black Rock Desert volcanic field and the Sevier Desert are to the north and northwest. The Pavant Range and Tushar Mountains lie to the east.

Harker Creek is a stream located in Tooele County, Utah, United States. The upper portion of the creek forms Harker Canyon, and drains from west to east on the southern side of the Sheeprock Mountains, a small mountain group in the larger Wasatch Range. The lower portion of the creek drains from south to north into Rush Valley, where it enters the watershed of Faust Creek. The point where the creek flows out of the canyon is located 10 km (6.2 mi) south of the town of Vernon. The creek is approximately 9.7 km (6.0 mi) in total length. It drains into the Rush Valley at its northern end at 1762 m (5780 ft) above sea level. At its highest point, the creek is at approximately 1900 m (6300 ft) elevation.

Tenmile Wash is an ephemeral wash and watercourse about 85 miles (137 km) long in the northern Sonoran Desert of south-central Arizona. It forms the eastern drainage of a two drainage system of dry washes into the Gila River Valley; both flow northwesterly, and the western drainage is the San Cristobal Wash Drainage of approximately the same length.

The Virgin Valley is a valley in northwest Arizona and southeast Nevada on the Virgin River. The Virgin River drains southwest Utah and southeast Nevada; parts of Arizona, especially the Arizona Strip region drain southwards into the Virgin River and Valley.

Confusion Range

The Confusion Range is a north-south trending mountain range in west-central Utah, United States. It is bounded by Snake Valley to the west, Tule Valley to the east, the Great Salt Lake Desert to the north, and the Ferguson Desert to the south. The range trends into the Burbank Hills, Mountain Home Range, and the Wah Wah Mountains to the south. In the central part of the range, an offshoot of the mountains to the west is known as the Conger Range. The Confusion Range is named for its "rugged isolation and confusing topography."

Burbank Hills

The Burbank Hills is a small northwest-southeast mountain range in western Utah, United States, that lies entirely within Hamlin-Snake Watershed between the Snake Range and, to the northeast and east, the Ferguson Desert. It is bounded by Snake Valley to the north, west, and south; and trends into the Tunnel Springs Mountains, to the southeast, opposite the Antelope Valley on its southeast border. It was named after the settlement of Burbank, Utah, and Margie Burbank Clay, the wife of local Judge E. W. Clay in the 1870s.

Belmont Mountains

The Belmont Mountains are a 25 mi (40 km) long, arid, low elevation mountain range about 50 mi west of Phoenix, Arizona in the northern Sonoran Desert, north of the Gila River. The range is in the south of a region of two parallel washes; the Bouse Wash flows northwest to the Colorado River, and the Centennial Wash flows southeast to meet the Gila River.

Bull Valley Mountains

The Bull Valley Mountains are a 30-mi (48 km) long, mountain range in southwest Utah, located in northwest Washington County. The range is adjacent the Utah border and attached to the Clover Mountains of southeast Nevada. The Great Basin Divide transects the summits of both ranges, with the Escalante Desert north and northeast of the Bull Valley Mountains, and south of the mountains the Colorado River watershed, and specifically the Santa Clara River which drains southeasterly from an escarpment along the mountain range's southeast flank.

Hamlin Valley valley on both sides of the Nevada–Utah state line

Hamlin Valley is a mostly north-south trending valley of the Great Basin located on both sides of the Nevada–Utah state line. It is about 60 miles (97 km) long. Its north-northeast end point adjacent the state line, is the southwest start region of the Snake Valley.

Mollie's Nipple or Molly's Nipple is the name given to as many as seven peaks, at least one butte, at least one well, and some other geological features in Utah. Some sources claim there are eleven geological features in Utah that bear this name. At least some of those names are attributed to John Kitchen – a pioneer of an early exploration of Utah, who named them to commemorate a nipple of his wife Molly.

Cunningham Wash is a wash in eastern Beaver County, Utah, United States.

Cove Creek is a stream in Beaver County and Millard County, Utah. It originates at the head of its canyon southeast of Cove Fort at 38°38′09″N112°29′34″W in Beaver County. It drains north down through the Tushar Mountains then turns west at the foot of Sulphur Peak running between the south end of the Pavant Range and the Tushar Mountains, past Cove Fort, from which it received its name. It then runs west past the north end of the Mineral Mountains to disappear into the sands of the desert at Beaver Bottoms.

Nevershine Hollow is a valley east of the South Hills, in Beaver County, Utah. The mouth of the valley is at the elevation of 6,165 feet / 1,879 meters. Its head is at an elevation of 6,500 feet at 38°09′43″N112°36′38″W, north of Beaver Ridge.

Beaver Ridge a ridge in Beaver County, Utah. It lies south of Nevershine Hollow and north of the canyon of Fremont Wash. It reaches an elevation of 6,552 feet / 1,997 meters.

California Hollow is a valley in the Black Mountains in Beaver and Iron County, Utah. Its mouth lies at an elevation of 6,414 feet / 1,955 meters. It heads at 38°08′41″N112°42′48″W, at an elevation of 6,940 feet, in Beaver County.

Indian Creek originally known as Sage Creek, is a tributary stream of the Beaver River in Beaver County, Utah. Its mouth is at its confluence with the Beaver River at an elevation of 5,499 feet / 1,676 meters above the Minersville Reservoir, 0.4 miles south of Adamsville. Its source is at 38°24′31″N112°26′55″W, on the northwest slope of Mount Baldy at an elevation of 10,600 feet in the Tushar Mountains.
