BedHead is a comedy web series created by Jon Dalgaard, Claire Phillips, Tom Keele, Reece A. Jones & Benjamin Mathews. Filmed in Sydney, Australia, the series allows the audience to hear the thoughts of two old friends, Paul and Sarah, who end up in bed together when Sarah comes to stay for the weekend. [1]

History

The series was conceived by Claire Phillips, Ben Mathews, Jon Dalgaard, Tom Keele and Reece A. Jones while studying together at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. In February 2014, BedHead was selected as one of twenty-four finalists as part of FreshBlood, an initiative founded by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Screen Australia to “unearth the next generation of comedy creators.” [2]

Plot

Paul finally decides to make a move when his old friend Sarah comes to stay for the weekend. But things don't quite go to plan and instead of triggering a weekend of passionate sex, Sarah's visit results in a series of disastrous, awkward encounters in Paul's bed that threaten to ruin their friendship forever. [3]

BedHead was released on ABC iView on 22 June 2014 as the fourth and final installment of FreshBlood. [4] [5]

Jonah from Tonga is an Australian television sitcom that is written by and starring comedian Chris Lilley. The mockumentary series follows Jonah Takalua, a rebellious 14-year-old Australian boy of Tongan descent portrayed by the Anglo-Celtic Australian Lilley in brownface. The character had been introduced in Lilley's 2007 series Summer Heights High. At the conclusion of that series, Jonah was expelled from Summer Heights High School. In this series, his father, Rocky Takalua, has sent him back to his homeland of Tonga to live with his uncle and their family in order to get Jonah's life back on track. The series was highly controversial for its use of brownface and ethnic stereotypes, much like Lilley’s other work; it has been commonly described as racist.

Utopia, internationally titled Dreamland, is a Logie Award-winning Australian television comedy series by Working Dog Productions that premiered on the ABC on 13 August 2014. The series follows the working lives of a team in the fictional Nation Building Authority, a newly created government organisation. The Authority is responsible for overseeing major infrastructure projects, from announcement to unveiling. The series explores the collision between bureaucracy and grand ambitions. The second series aired in 2015, beginning with the first episode on 19 August 2015. The third series aired in 2017, beginning with the first episode on 19 July 2017. The fourth series aired in 2019, beginning on 21 August 2019. No word as yet if a fifth season has been comissioned or produced.
