      Bellator 3 and Bellator IV were two episodes of the mixed martial arts promotion, Bellator Fighting Championships, created from a single event. The event took place on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma. [4]

      Background

      Bellator IV was originally scheduled for Montreal, however regulatory issues prevented the event from being held there. Each episode featured half of the bouts from the third Bellator event. Bellator III aired nationally in the U.S. via tape-delay the following night on Saturday, April 18, 2009 through an exclusive television agreement with ESPN Deportes. Bellator IV aired on Saturday, April 25, 2009.

                  Bellator Fighting Championships: Season Two was the second installment of the Bellator Fighting Championships -produced series. It started on April 8, 2010 and ended June 24, 2010. Tournaments were held in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight and middleweight divisions. The winner of each tournament will get a shot at the current Bellator Champion in his respective weight class. Three of the four current Bellator Champions also fought during this season in "Super Fights". These non-tournament, non-title catch-weight fights were to help prepare the champions in defending their titles against the winners of this season's tournament winners sometime in the third season.

Mixed martial arts tournaments were held in multiple weight classes, including the bantamweight division, heavyweight division and women's division at 115 pounds.                   Patrício "Pitbull" Freire is a Brazilian mixed martial artist currently competing in Bellator MMA where he is the current Bellator Lightweight Champion and two-time and current Bellator Featherweight Champion. He is the younger brother of lightweight fighter Patricky Freire. He is the second-ever simultaneous two-weight champion in Bellator MMA history. As of March 29, 2021 he is #1 in the Bellator men's pound-for-pound rankings.

                  Luis Palomino is a Peruvian-American mixed martial artist who competes in the Lightweight division and is currently signed to the World Series of Fighting and Absolute Championship Berkut. He previously fought in the featherweight division. He has been a professional MMA competitor since 2006.

                  Bellator Fighting Championships: Season Four was the fourth installment of the Bellator Fighting Championships. Mixed martial arts tournaments were held in multiple weight classes, including three of the original tournament classes: Welterweight, Lightweight and Featherweight.                   Daniel Weichel is a German mixed martial artist currently competing in Bellator's Featherweight division. A professional competitor since 2002, he has also competed in M-1 Global and Shooto. As of March 29, 2021, he is #5 in the Bellator Featherweight Rankings.
