Ben Bulatao, ACE, is a Filipino-American film/television editor. [1] He is best known for his work on Deadliest Catch , Coal , Orlando Bloom: To the Edge, and Dancing with the Stars . [2]
Bulatao's work on the Discovery Channel's docuseries, Deadliest Catch , has been nominated six times for the Primetime Emmy Award. [1]
Benjamin Pascua Bulatao was born in Milton, Florida to Filipino immigrant parents. His father, Arsenio Bulatao was in the United States Navy. His mother, Linda Pascua was a registered nurse. Bulatao graduated from Carson High School in Carson, California. He earned a B.S. in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine. He is a member of American Cinema Editors (ACE). [3] Bulatao served 2 terms as associate board member of ACE (2022-2024). He was a board member of the Media Action Network for Asian Americans (MANAA). Bulatao marched with the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow Coalition at the 1996 Oscars on March 25, 1996. [4] In 2022, Blogtalk with MJ Racadio named him one of the "75 Most Influential Filipino-Americans". He was ranked #10. [5]
Bulatao has two children, twins Jet and Jordan, with his wife, Jennifer. They reside in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.

Founded in 1950, American Cinema Editors (ACE) is an honorary society of film editors who are voted in based on the qualities of professional achievements, their education of others, and their dedication to editing. Members use the post-nominal letters "ACE". The organization's "Eddie Awards" are routinely covered in trade magazines such as The Hollywood Reporter and Variety. The society is not an industry union, such as the I.A.T.S.E., to which an editor might also belong. The current president of ACE is Kevin Tent, who was elected in 2020.
