Benjamin Toews is an American politician serving as a member of the Idaho Senate for the 4th district. He assumed office on December 1,2022.
Toews earned an associate degree from North Idaho College and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Gonzaga University. [1]
For 17 years,Toews worked for Bullet Tools,a tool manufacturing company he helped launch and co-owned with his in-laws. The company was acquired by the Marshalltown Company in 2019. Toews was elected to the Idaho Senate in November 2022. [2] [3]

Toews most recently played for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL),where he served as the team's captain between 2008 and 2023. Nicknamed "Captain Serious",Toews was selected by the Blackhawks with the third overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the team in 2007–08 and was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year. Crapo easily won renomination,while former Idaho House of Representatives candidate David Roth won the Democratic primary with 57.8% of the vote. Crapo ultimately won the election,but this was the lowest share of the vote he had ever received for this seat,partially because of an independent candidate,Scott Cleveland,taking away some of his votes.
