Beneath the Encasing of Ashes is the debut studio album by American metalcore band As I Lay Dying. Many reviewers [3] [4] and also casual listeners [5] compared the overall sound of this album to Zao. It is widely thought that the band found its own sound on later albums, Frail Words Collapse and Shadows Are Security .[ citation needed ] All the songs on Beneath the Encasing of Ashes appear on the compilation album A Long March: The First Recordings .

The closing track, "Behind Me Lies Another Fallen Soldier" was re-recorded for the band's second album, Frail Words Collapse . They also re-recorded a medley, which includes parts from several songs from the album, which was included on Decas .

Slipknot is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. It was released on June 29, 1999, by Roadrunner Records, following a demo containing a few of the songs which had previously been released in 1998. Later, it was reissued in December 1999 with a slightly-altered track listing and mastering as the result of a lawsuit. It was the first release by the band to be produced by Ross Robinson, who sought to refine Slipknot's sound rather than alter the group's musical direction.
