Benny Ibarra de Llano known as Benny Ibarra is a Mexican singer, musician, producer and actor. He was born into a family of artists. His mother, Julissa, was a singer and actress in the 1960s; and his father, Benny, an actor and 1960s rock singer in the Mexican band Los Yaki. His brother, Alejandro Ibarra, is a singer and actor.

Ibarra started his music career in the pop band Timbiriche (1981), and began working as a solo artist in 1992. He reunited with Timbiriche for the 1999 Reunion and again for the 25th Anniversary Tour in 2007- 2008. Additionally he was part of trio that consisted of 3 former members of the Mexican pop group Timbiriche, consisting of Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra and Erik Rubin Sasha, Benny y Erik that formed in 2012-2016. In 2017, Benny joined the original founding members of Timbiriche (current line up includes original members Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra, Alix Bauer, Erik Rubin, Mariana Garza and Diego Schoening) to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the group. The tour will continue into 2018.

Pre-solo career

As part of Timbiriche, he recorded 7 albums. He also starred in Vaselina (Grease). Ibarra left Timbiriche in 1986, and from 1985 to 1989 he studied jazz, guitar, classical music, and composition at the Walnut Hill School in Boston. In 1998, Timbiriche reunited to tour Mexico and Central America, and in 1999 released a live album El Concierto. Ibarra recorded the album Mar Adentro en la Sangre with Guadalajara-based progressive rock band Santa Sabina the same year. [ citation needed ]

Buscando a Timbiriche, La Nueva Banda was a Mexican reality show set to look for the new, re-make of the '80s and '90s Mexican band Timbiriche, hosted by Galilea Montijo. The show premiered on June 24, 2007, in Mexico on Canal de las Estrellas and on July 1, 2007 in the United States on Univision a week later from its original live air in Mexico. The show concluded on October 14, 2007, in Mexico, having Brisia, Fernanda, Alberto, Gaby, Eduardo, Taide, and Yurem as the seven new members of the brand new re-made band Timbiriche. Their first CD was released on November 30, 2007. The band announced their decision to split at their final concert in Nuevo Laredo in May 2009.

The Top 100 México contained over 100 titles sold in the country, with separate charts that include 20 albums for popular music genres, such as norteño, banda and ranchera, Spanish, and English language albums.

Sasha, Benny y Erik are a pop-supergroup from Mexico. The group was formed by 3 former members of the Mexican pop group Timbiriche, consisting of Sasha Sokol, Benny Ibarra, and Erik Rubin, who are close friends in real life. With much anticipation by their fans, Sasha, Benny y Erik released the live album Primera Fila: Sasha Benny Erik. The project has enjoyed much success with a national tour that started in late 2012, and has continued through much of 2014. The album has been certified triple platinum + gold in Mexico for sales exceeding 210,000 copies. Originally, the band performed 2 concerts at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, in April 2013, but due to demand, they did two more concerts at the venue in September of that same year. In 2013, they released En Vivo desde el Auditorio Nacional, which got certified as gold a few days after its release. At the end of 2013, the album Primera Fila: Sasha Benny Erik was officially recognized by AMPROFON as the second best-selling album in Mexico that same year. In late 2014, Sasha, Benny y Erik released their first studio album "Vuelta al Sol" and released "Esta Noche" as their first single. The next singles were "Todo tiene su lugar" ,"Japi" and "Punto de partida". In 2015, they performed at National Auditorium twice. In May, "Entre Amigos" was released and the band announced the end of the project in December.
