Baron Blyth, of Blythwood in the Parish of Stansted Mountfichet in the County of Essex, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1907 for Sir James Blyth, 1st Baronet. He was a Director of the gin-making firm of W. & A. Gilbey as well as an expert on wine culture and wine commerce. Before his elevation to the peerage, Blyth had been created a Baronet, of Blythwood in the Parish of Stansted Mountfitchet in the County of Essex, on 30 August 1895. His eldest son, the second Baron, was a Director of W. and A. Gilbey. The latter was succeeded by his nephew, the third Baron. He was the son of Audley James Blyth, second son of the first Baron. As of 2010 the titles are held by the third Baron's grandson, the fifth Baron, who succeeded his father in 2009.

It was created in 1894 and later enlarged by the addition of the parishes of Berden, Birchanger, Elsenham, Farnham, Henham-on-the-Hill, Manuden, Stansted Mountfitchet and Ugley from the disbanded Stansted Rural District. It was named after and administered from Saffron Walden.

It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It stands about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southeast of the village in the grounds of Stansted Hall. The church has been listed because of its "historical value and internal features".
Bentfield Charles Hucks was an aviation innovator in the early 20th century. As well as test flying numerous aircraft types, he was the first Briton to perform a loop in an aircraft, which he performed in his Blériot at Hendon airfield in September 1913. He is also credited with the Hucks starter and many feats of test flying during the First World War, while working at Hendon for Airco.
