Berny and Ignatius is an Indian musical duo consisting of brothers Berny Puthenveettil and Ignatius Puthenveettil. Primarily working in the Malayalam film industry, they are best known for their work in films such as Thenmavin Kombath, Chandralekha, Kottaram Veettile Apputtan, Kalyanaraman, Chess, and Kaaryasthan. [1] Thenmavin Kombath earned them the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director in 1994. [2]

Biography

Born to John Puthenveettil and Treasa, Berny and Ignatius learned music from their father at an early age prior to professionally composing music in 1979. [3] They have composed many hit songs such as Kallipoonguyile, Mayilay Parannu Vaa, Poonilamazha peythirangiya, Kathayile Rajakumaranum, Aavani Ponnoonjal, Thamarappoovil vazhum, Puthumazhayayi vannu, Ponnitta Pettakam, Thechippoove Thenagasi Poove, Oru Kathilola etc. [4]

Padmadalakshan, better known by his stage name Kuthiravattam Pappu, was a popular Indian stage and film actor. Thenmavin Kompath is a 1994 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Priyadarshan. It was produced and edited by N. Gopalakrishnan. The film stars Mohanlal, Shobana, and Nedumudi Venu, with Kaviyoor Ponnamma, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Sukumari, Kuthiravattam Pappu, Sreenivasan, Sankaradi, and Sharat Saxena in supporting roles. The background score was composed by S. P. Venkatesh, while the Berny-Ignatius duo composed the songs. K. V. Anand was the cinematographer.

Kottaram Veetile Apputtan is a 1998 Indian Malayalam-language romantic comedy-drama film directed by Rajasenan, starring Jayaram,Shruti, Kalabhavan Mani and Jagathy Sreekumar in the lead Roles. The film was dubbed into Tamil as Aranmanaikaran and later remade in Telugu as Manasunna Maaraju and in Tamil as Sound Party.

Thalapathy Dinesh is an Indian action choreographer who works mainly in Tamil cinema. He started his career in the cinema as an extra fighter in Naan Sigappu Manithan and later he became as a stunt master and actor. His role as Dileep's grand father in the Malayalam movie Kalyanaraman was well noted. P. V. Kunhikrishnan, a judge of the Kerala High Court is his son and the noted lyricist and music director Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri is his son-in-law. He died on 20 January 2021 at a private hospital in Kannur.
