Sushin Shyamis an Indian music composer, instrumentalist, and singer primarily associated with Malayalam cinema. He is also a founding member of the folk metal band The Down Troddence. [1] He is known for his contributions to the films Varathan (2018), Kumbalangi Nights (2019), Minnal Murali (2021), Bheeshma Parvam (2022), Romancham (2023), Kannur Squad (2023), Manjummel Boys (2024) and Aavesham (2024). His work on Kumbalangi Nights earned him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director in 2019. [2] [3] [4]

Early life

Sushin Shyam received his early education at the St Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Thalassery, and Mambaram Higher Secondary School in Thalassery. Under his father's guidance, a musician himself, Sushin learned to play the keyboard from an early age, including performing on stage at the age of 3. [5] He relocated to Chennai in pursuit of new prospects within the music industry. [6] He honed his skills during a two-year stint working with Music Director Deepak Dev. [7]

Career

Sushin lent his voice to a song, "Thaazhvaram" for the film. [8]

Sushin's subsequent projects included composing the background score for Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi in 2015 and for Kismath in 2016. He also created a song, "Kissa Pathiyil," for the latter film, both of which were well received by audiences. [8] [9] [10]

Sushin has appeared in short or guest roles in movies including Grandmaster , Thattathin Marayathu , [11] Da Thadiya , [12] Honey Bee , Guppy , Mayaanadhi and Nadikar

Personal Life

He married Uthara Krishnan on 30 October 2024 at Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple, Thrippunithura. Uthara is niece of former actress Parvathy Jayaram. [13] [14]

Trance is a 2020 Indian Malayalam language neo-noir psychological thriller film directed and produced by Anwar Rasheed and written by Vincent Vadakkan. It features an ensemble cast including Fahadh Faasil, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Nazriya Nazim, Chemban Vinod Jose, Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Vinayakan and Arjun Ashokan. The directorial debut was written by Syam Pushkaran and jointly produced by Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim under their production house Fahadh Faasil and Friends, in association with Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under Working Class Hero. The film stars Shane Nigam, Fahadh Faasil, Soubin Shahir and Sreenath Bhasi, along with debutants Anna Ben, Grace Antony and Mathew Thomas in pivotal roles. Narayanan in his directorial debut, features musical score composed by Sushin Shyam with the soundtrack accompanied for the film has seven songs in number. The Malayalam lyrics were penned by Anwar Ali and Vinayak Sasikumar, while the English songs featured in the album were penned by Nezer Ahamed, Shyam's bandmate in The Down Troddence rock musical band. Shyam, Sithara Krishnakumar, Sooraj Santhosh, Anne Amie, Kezia Quintal (K.Zia), Akhil Unnikrishnan a.k.a. AKEL and Yadav gave vocals for the tracks featured in the album.

Mashar Hamsa is an Indian costume designer from Kerala, who works in the Malayalam films. He started his career as a film costume designer in 2013 with the movie Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi. As of April 2023, Mashar has designed costumes for more than 30 Malayalam films. He is a recipient of 2020 Kerala Film Critics Association Awards for best costume designer for the movie Trance.
