Beth Goetz (born July 30, 1974) is an American college athletics administrator and a former college soccer player and coach. She has been the athletic director at the University of Iowa since 2024. Goetz joined the university as deputy athletic director and chief operating officer in 2022, [1] was named interim athletic director in August 2023 after Gary Barta's retirement, and formally took the role in January 2024. Goetz's previous roles include athletic director at Ball State University from 2018 to 2022, [3] chief operating officer at the University of Connecticut from 2016 to 2018, [4] , deputy athletic director from 2013, then interim athletic director from 2015 to 2016 at the University of Minnesota [5] , associate athletic director at Butler University from 2008 to 2013, and assistant athletic director at the University of Missouri–St. Louis from 2000 to 2008. She was also the head women's soccer coach at Missouri-St. Louis from 1997 to 2007, compiling a 120–90–9 record.[ citation needed ]

Goetz attended Brevard College and Clemson University as an undergraduate, playing soccer at both schools as a defender and midfielder. [6] She received a master's degree from Missouri-St. Louis in 2000. [7]

Jack Trice Stadium is a stadium located in Ames, Iowa, United States, which is the first major college stadium named for a black man. Primarily used for college football, it is the home field of the Iowa State Cyclones. It is named in honor of Jack Trice, Iowa State's first African American athlete, who died of injuries sustained during a 1923 game against Minnesota. The stadium opened on September 20, 1975, with a 17–12 win over Air Force.

Tim Brewster is an American football coach and former player who formerly was the tight ends coach for the University of Colorado. He also served as the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for the North Carolina Tar Heels football program. The UConn Huskies football team is a college football team that represents the University of Connecticut in the sport of American football. The team competes in NCAA Division I FBS as an independent. Connecticut first fielded a team in 1896, and participated in Division I-AA until 1999. The Huskies began their two-year Division I-A transition period in 2000, and became a full-fledged Division I-A team in 2002. From 2000 to 2003, the team played as an independent. The school's football team then joined the conference of its other sport teams, the Big East, taking effect in 2004, through 2019. In 2019, the UConn football team left the American to again play as an independent, as the school's current primary conference, the current Big East, does not sponsor the sport. The Huskies currently are coached by Jim Mora.

Gerald R. Kill is an American football coach. He was most recently the head coach at New Mexico State University. He played college football at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, from 1979 to 1982. Kill served as the head coach at Saginaw Valley State University, Emporia State University, Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Northern Illinois University and the University of Minnesota, as well as serving as the interim head coach for the final four games of the 2021 season at TCU.

The 2008 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team was the second under head coach Tim Brewster. They began play on August 30, 2008 at home against Northern Illinois from the Mid-American Conference, and finished the regular season against Iowa, on November 22. It was the Golden Gophers' final season in the Metrodome, as they moved into TCF Bank Stadium in 2009. The Gophers accepted a bid to the Insight Bowl and played Kansas on December 31 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Robert F. Casciola is an American former college football coach, National Basketball Association executive, banking executive, and broadcaster. He was the head coach at the University of Connecticut from 1971 to 1972 and at Princeton University from 1973 to 1977. He held assistant coaching positions at Princeton and, Dartmouth College. The 2015 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2015 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fifth-year head coach Jerry Kill, who resigned on October 28, 2015 due to health reasons. Tracy Claeys replaced Kill on an interim basis and was named head coach two weeks later on November 11. The Gophers played their home games at TCF Bank Stadium. They were a member of the West Division of the Big Ten Conference. Minnesota finished the regular season with a record of 5–7, 2–6 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for fifth place in the West Division. Despite finishing below .500, the Gophers were invited to the Quick Lane Bowl versus Central Michigan due to there not being enough bowl eligible teams and Minnesota's high Academic Performance Rating. Minnesota defeated Central Michigan 21–14 to finish the season 6–7.

Scott McDonald is an American college athletics administrator. He was most recently the athletic director at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a position he held from 2018 to 2022. He previously served as chief administrative officer and as interim athletic director at Louisiana–Monroe. McDonald played college baseball at Northeast Louisiana University from 1980 to 1983, where he led his team to the 1983 Southland Conference baseball tournament championship and a berth in the 1983 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. McDonald was named interim athletic director at the University of Louisiana at Monroe on September 4, 2018 before being named to the job on a permanent basis on June 12, 2019. McDonald resigned his position as athletic director at the University of Louisiana at Monroe on August 15, 2022.
