Shree Jagannath Pahadia Govt. Medical College also known as GMC Bharatpur is a full-fledged tertiary Medical college in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. It was established in the year 2017. The college imparts the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) and MD/MS/DNB/Diploma in various Clinical and Non Clinical Branches, Nursing and para-medical courses are also offered. The college is affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences and is recognized by National Medical Commission. The selection to the college is done on the basis of merit through National Eligibility and Entrance Test. in march 2024, Dr Tarun Lall is joined as the Principal and Controller of SJPMC. The college started MBBS courses in August 2018. The attached hospitals are Raj Bahadur memorial hospital with speciality and super speciality services along with a pediatric hospital Janana hospital and Ram katori eye hospital. The college is well recognized by NMC and has been awarded excellence in doing fieldwork in the Bharatpur region. Bharatpur region includes Bharatpur karauli Dholpur and Sawai Madhopur. RBM hospital is the biggest referral hospital in the region. The annual fest of College “FLAMES” is generally held in the month of October. Fest involves variety of Cultural and Sporting events. A Doctor of Medicine is a medical degree, the meaning of which varies between different jurisdictions. In the United States, and some other countries, the M.D. denotes a professional degree. This generally arose because many in 18th-century medical professions trained in Scotland, which used the M.D. degree nomenclature. In England, however, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) was used: in the 19th century, it became the standard in Scotland too. The Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a postgraduate degree in medicine awarded by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, on completion of three-year training in any of 30 broad specialties. DNB is equivalent to the Master of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) in all purposes. Doctors who already hold an MD/MS/DM/MCh are eligible to directly appear in the DNB final examination.

The standard entry-to-practice degree in modern evidence-based medicine in India is the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Alternative systems of Medicine in India are Ayurveda (BAMS), Unani (BUMS), Siddha(BSMS), Homeopathy (BHMS). M.B.B.S. a credential earned upon completion of a five-and-a-half-year undergraduate program. The curriculum is divided into one year of preclinical studies in general science subjects and three and a half years of paraclinical and clinical studies, followed by a one-year clinical internship. Before beginning the internship, students are required to pass several examinations, the final one of which is conducted in two parts. Postgraduate education in medical specialties typically takes 3 additional years of study after the MBBS and concludes with the award of a Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine(MD). Postgraduate diplomas in medical specialities may also be awarded upon the completion of two-year training programs. After that a person can further get a degree in superspeciality in his or her respective branch after successful completion of 3 years of superspeciality in a medical college.
