Bidyut Baran Mahato is an Indian politician and a member of parliament to the 16th Lok Sabha from Jamshedpur (Lok Sabha constituency),Jharkhand. He won the 2014 Indian general election being a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate. [1] He also won the Lok Sabha Elections held in May 2019. He became the first candidate from Jamshedpur Lok Sabha Constituency to win the Lok Sabha Election held in May 2024 three times consecutively. [2]

Gandhi held the seat till the 2019 election when he was defeated by a margin of 55,000 votes by the BJP's Smriti Irani.
