Biel is a village in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It was an independent municipality until 2001, when it merged with Ritzingen and Selkingen into the municipality Grafschaft.

It is located along both shores of the northeastern half of Lake Biel and is part of the Seeland administrative region, and its capital is Biel/Bienne. It contains 19 municipalities with an area of 97.63 km2 (37.70 sq mi) and a population of 90,536, over half of which lives in the district's capital. While it is the smallest district in surface area, it has the third largest population in the canton.

Donje Vardište is a village in the municipality of Višegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is on the border between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Donje Vardište was one of the two end stations of the Bosnian Eastern Railway, which had been built from Sarajevo to Uvac and Vardište during the Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Construction of the line started in 1903. It was completed in 1906, using the 760 mm track gauge. With the cost of 75 million gold crowns, which approximately translates to 450 thousand gold crowns per kilometer, it was one of the most expensive railways in the world built by that time. The line was eventually extended to Belgrade in 1928. Donje Vardište is today part of the narrow-gauge heritage railway Šargan Eight.

The Île de la Harpe is an island in Lake Geneva, located on the territory of the municipality of Rolle, in the canton of Vaud. It is an artificial island built in 1837. The island was named after the political leader Frédéric-César de La Harpe, after his death in 1838. An obelisk was built on the island in honour of de la Harpe. Since 1875, the island is property of the commune of Rolle. It was classified as a historical monument in 1968.
