He has received several awards including four Filmfare Awards South, two Karnataka State Film Awards and one Nandi Award.

The episodes focus on comical scripts and usually feature celebrity guests who are invited on the show to promote their latest films in the comedy-focused talk show format. The show became Karnataka's highest rated scripted TV show in June 2015. As of September 2015, the show achieved maximum TRP and obtained the number one spot in Kannada television.

The show was a huge hit for its satire-comedy structure. Arun Sagar was later hired as the first contestant of Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1, where he emerged as the runner-up for the season. He later reprised the comedy genre with a new show, Comedy Circle that was aired on ETV Kannada. The show was successful, however for unknown reasons, he opted out of the show after few episodes. He also hosted a one-man-show on the same genre known as Koyyam Kotra on TV9 (Kannada).

It premiered on 6 August 2021 on Viacom18's streaming service Voot and premium streaming service Voot Select with Sudeep as the host. The OTT season concluded on 16 September 2022. Roopesh, Rakesh, Sanya, Aaryavardhan emerged as Champions of the season and got ticket to Bigg Boss Kannada 9. Roopesh Shetty emerged as the top performer of the season.
