The eighth season of the Indian Kannada-language reality television game show Bigg Boss premiered on 28 February 2021. [1] It is produced by Endemol Shine India under the control of Banijay and broadcast on Colors Kannada with Kiccha Sudeepa as the host.
The season was suspended on 8 May 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last episode was aired after a show run for 71 days and later it continued from 23 June 2021 onwards. [2] [3]
Since the show was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic on day 71 and the day 72 resumed from 23 June 2021 onwards with a new title called Bigg Boss Second Innings and twelve non evicted contestants have entered the house to compete till the finale of the 8th season. [4] [5] [6]

The show is most viewed on the digital platform rather than the TV platform which includes double viewership than that of the TV platform.[ citation needed ]
The show was going on air from October, but the eight season get delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and on 15 February 2021 the channel confirmed that the show is going to launch on 28 February 2021. [7]
The Bigg Boss house is built in Innovative Film City at Bidadi, Bengaluru. While the show is returning to Kannada television after a gap of an year, new norms and changes have been taken as part of safety precautions due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. [8]
The show is sticking to the original format of the reality programme and it will only have celebrities who will be entering the house as contestants due to it is taking place amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the makers have taken all necessary precautions to ensure a COVID-free environment for everyone involved in the production. The show follows selected contestants who are isolated from the outside world for 106 days (or 15 weeks) in a custom-built house. The housemates are dictated by an omnipresent entity named Bigg Boss. Each week, one or more of the housemates are evicted by a public vote. The last week, the housemate who gets the most votes, wins the game.

Sudeep Sanjeev, also known as Sudeepa or Kichcha Sudeep, is an Indian actor, director, producer, screenwriter, television presenter and singer, who primarily works in Kannada films. He has also worked in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. He is one of the highest paid actors of Kannada Cinema and is one of the first Kannada actors to be listed in the Forbes list of top 100 celebrities of India since 2013. He has received several awards including four Filmfare Awards South, one Karnataka State Film Award and one Nandi Award.
Bigg Boss Kannada (BBK) is the Kannada version of the reality TV show Bigg Boss, which is broadcast in India through Colors Kannada channel. The show is produced by Endemol Shine India, who owns the global format of Big Brother. Kiccha Sudeepa was hired to host the reality show in 2013 for the first season on ETV Kannada (now Colors Kannada). Later, he continued as a host of the show.

Sudeepa is an Indian actor and director who primarily works as leading actor role in the Kannada film industry. He has also worked in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil films. He is also popularly known as Kiccha Sudeepa. Sudeep made his debut in Thayavva (1997). In 2000 he starred in Sparsha, which gave him breakthrough.

In the last week of Finale the makers of Bigg Boss announced the for the first time among all seasons, the season 10 has top six contestants stepped into the Grande Finale where one finalist was evicted one day before the ultimate day of the show.
