Educate Berlin! (German : Bildet Berlin! e.V.), is a minor single-issue political party in Germany that focuses on education reform in the city-state of Berlin. [1] [2]
The party was founded in April 2021 as successor of the registered association Bildet Berlin! Initiative für Schulqualität (English: Educate Berlin! Initiative for School quality) founded ten years prior in 2011. [3]
As of May 2021, it had approximately 50 members. [2]
The party believes that the education system has been neglected and needs to be reformed through the betterment of working conditions in schools and kindergartens. It wishes, among other things, to reduce the size of school classes and kindergarten groups, paying higher salaries, reducing working hours, and reducing non-schooling related administrative tasks. It wishes to staff every educational institution at 110% to prevent a shortage of teaching staff. [3] [4] The party additionally wants to insure that educational institutions are clean and well digitally equipped. [5]
Educate Berlin! partook in the 2021 Berlin state election and the repeat election in 2023. It only participated with a party-list.

Bremen, officially the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, is the smallest and least populous of Germany's 16 states. It is informally called Land Bremen, although the term is sometimes used in official contexts. The state consists of the city of Bremen and its seaport exclave, Bremerhaven, surrounded by the larger state of Lower Saxony in northern Germany.
Kindergarten is a preschool educational approach based on playing, singing, practical activities such as drawing, and social interaction as part of the transition from home to school. Friedrich Wilhelm August Fröbel or Froebel was a German pedagogue, a student of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi, who laid the foundation for modern education based on the recognition that children have unique needs and capabilities. He created the concept of the kindergarten and coined the word, which soon entered the English language as well. He also developed the educational toys known as Froebel gifts.
Die Partei für Arbeit, Rechtsstaat, Tierschutz, Elitenförderung und basisdemokratische Initiative, or Die PARTEI, is a German political party. It was founded in 2004 by the editors of the German satirical magazine Titanic. It is led by Martin Sonneborn. In the 2014 European Parliament election, the party won a seat, marking the first time that a satirical party has won a seat to the European Parliament. The old states of Germany is a jargon referring to the ten of the sixteen states of the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG) that were part of West Germany and that unified with the eastern German Democratic Republic's 5 states, which are given the contrasting term new states of Germany. Usage of this terminology usually excludes one other state, Berlin, conterminous with the capital city of the reunified nation which used to be divided, with its western part linked with West Germany.
The Pirate Party Berlin is the state chapter of the Pirate Party Germany in the city-state of Berlin and was the first chapter of the Pirates to enter a Landtag, getting elected to the Abgeordnetenhaus of Berlin in 2011. The party divides itself into so-called Crews at the local level. Work groups on specific themes are called Squads. Since 2010, the national association has used the software LiquidFeedback for intra-party decision-making.
The Party of Humanists is a minor political party in Germany that first participated in the 2017 federal election. Monika Grütters is a German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) who served as Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media in the government of Chancellor Angela Merkel from 2013-2021. She has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2005 and was chairwoman of the Committee on Culture and Media Affairs from 2009 to 2013. Since December 2016, Grütters has also been the chairwoman of the CDU Berlin and an elected member of the CDU Federal Executive Board.
Volt Europa is a pro-European and federalist European political alliance. It operates as a pan-European umbrella for subsidiary parties sharing the same name and branding. Despite its organisation and being referred to as a "European party" or "transnational party", Volt does not yet meet the requirements to register as a European political party.
Patrick Breyer is a German digital rights activist, jurist, Pirate Party Germany politician, and – since 2019 – Member of the European Parliament (MEP). From 2012 to 2017 he was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein and from April 2016 until the end of the legislative period he was also the leader of the Pirate group in that assembly. The Pädagogischer Austauschdienst organizes international scholastic exchanges between Germany and other countries. It was founded in 1952 and is attached to the Kultusministerkonferenz. Its work is to make possible international encounters, to improve foreign-language teaching in Germany by using young native speakers, to foster the spread of German as a foreign language abroad and to give German teachers opportunities, through exchange programmes, to further educate themselves and to gain experience abroad.
