Billie Jean King, also known as BJK, is an American former world No. 1 tennis player. King won 39 Grand Slam titles: 12 in singles, 16 in women's doubles, and 11 in mixed doubles. King was a member of the victorious United States team in seven Federation Cups and nine Wightman Cups. For three years, she was the U.S. captain in the Federation Cup.

The Billie Jean King Cup is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. The Billie Jean King Cup is the world's largest annual women's international team sports competition in terms of the number of nations that compete. The current chair is Katrina Adams.

Ilana Sheryl Kloss is a South African former professional tennis player, tennis coach, and administrator. She was the World's No. 1 ranked doubles player in 1976, and World No. 19 in singles in 1979. She won the Wimbledon juniors singles title in 1972, the US Open juniors singles title in 1974, and the US Open Doubles and French Open Mixed Doubles titles in 1976. She won three gold medals at the 1973 Maccabiah Games in Israel. After her playing career, Kloss was the commissioner of World TeamTennis from 2001–2021.

The United States women's national tennis team is the most successful national team in Billie Jean King Cup competition. The team has won 18 titles and finished second a further 11 times, out of 55 participations.

The Italy women's national tennis team represents Italy in international women's tennis and is directed by the Federazione Italiana Tennis. The team played in the first ever tournament in 1963, and is one of four teams that has taken part in every single edition since.

The Japan women's national tennis team represents Japan in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Japan Tennis Association. Most recently, in 2024, they qualified for the finals by beating Kazakhstan in April, and then reached the quarter-finals of the competition with a win over Romania in November.

The Germany women's national tennis team represents Germany in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by Deutscher Tennis Bund.

The Argentina women's national tennis team represents Argentina in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Asociación Argentina de Tenis. The team's historical best results came in 1986 and 1993, when they reached the semifinals. Argentina played the last five years in the Americas Zone Group I, after being relegated losing World Group II Playoffs against Spain. Argentina are currently number 24 in the ITF rankings.

The Belarus women's national tennis team represented Belarus in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Belarus Tennis Association. They compete in the World Group. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the International Tennis Federation suspended Russia and Belarus from Billie Jean King Cup competitions.

The Bulgaria women's national tennis team represents Bulgaria in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Bulgarian Tennis Federation.

The Switzerland women's national tennis team represents Switzerland in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by Swiss Tennis. They currently compete in World Group.

The Latvia women's national tennis team represents Latvia in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Latvian Tennis Union. They currently compete in World Group II.

The Montenegro Billie Jean King Cup team represents Montenegro in the Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Tennis Federation of Montenegro. They currently compete in the Europe/Africa Zone of Group III.

The Indonesia Billie Jean King Cup team represents Indonesia in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Indonesian Tennis Association. They have not competed in the World Groups since 2006.

With the Slovakia team, she contributed to achieve for the first time the final for her country at 2024 Billie Jean King Cup, losing only in the final to world n.4 Jasmine Paolini. She has won one WTA Tour singles title in Hua Hin, Thailand. On the ITF Women's Circuit, she has won 13 singles titles and four doubles titles.
