Blazing Wheels and Barking Trucks is Thrasher's second skate punk release (subtitled "Thrasher's Skaterock Vol. II"). [1] [2] Released in 1984, it was the magazine's first skate rock release on both cassette and LP. [3] [4]

The publication consists primarily of skateboard and music-related articles, photography, interviews and skatepark reviews. The band was formed by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, following the dissolution of their previous band, Homeless Wonders. "Hell on Wheels" is a disco song performed by American singer-actress Cher from her sixteenth studio album, Prisoner. It was written by Bob Esty and Michele Aller and produced by Esty. Chuck Treece

Chuck Treece is a session musician and professional skateboarder from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1984 he became famous for being the first African-American skateboarder to be featured on the cover of Thrasher Magazine. His musical credits include starting the 1980s skate punk band McRad, remixing songs for Amy Grant and Sting, playing the bass line on "The River of Dreams" by Billy Joel, filling in on drums at a Pearl Jam concert, and touring with Urge Overkill and Bad Brains. In 2010, he was awarded a Pew Fellowships in the Arts. Chuck currently plays bass in a thrash metal band called ACTiVATE. Treece drummed on the album, Mass by Canadian Ska band, Bedouin Soundclash.

Neil Daniels is a freelance British writer specialising in rock and heavy metal. Educated at Middlesex University, where he obtained a BA Honours degree in Film Studies, he has written books on Judas Priest, Robert Plant, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park and ZZ Top.

<i>Change Today?</i> 1984 studio album by T.S.O.L.

Change Today? is the third studio album by the American rock band T.S.O.L., released in 1984 through Enigma Records. It was the band's first album with singer/guitarist Joe Wood and drummer Mitch Dean, replacing founding members Jack Grisham and Todd Barnes who had left the band in late 1983. The album was recorded using money loaned to T.S.O.L. by the Dead Kennedys, and found the new incarnation of the band moving away from the hardcore punk associations of the original lineup in favor of a traditional rock and gothic rock sound. Change Today? was reissued in 1999 through the Enigma subsidiary Restless Records, adding four tracks from the recording sessions that had been left off the original album.

DC-Jam Records is an American record label founded in 2006 by Darron Hemann that focuses primarily on punk rock, ska, and experimental music. The company was established in 2006, though the first release didn't happen until early 2008. The label features well-known classic punk rock artists such as T.S.O.L., JFA, Fishbone, The Adicts, Down By Law, Trusty, and Government Issue, and several up and comers including Dirty Filthy Mugs, The Generators, Machine 22, Kirkwood Dellinger Downtown Brown, and Fast Piece of Furniture.

Brandon Westgate is a professional skateboarder.

The Faction was an American hardcore punk band from San Jose, California. Pioneers of the skate punk era during the early 1980s, their primary stint being from Halloween 1982 until Halloween 1985, The Faction were one of the first bands whose music and lifestyle tastes centered on punk rock and skateboarding. An early demo tape had these words inscribed on the label: "Music By Skaters For Skaters." All original band members and their subsequent replacements are accomplished skateboarders, most notably bass and guitar player and legendary professional skateboarder Steve Caballero. In the early years of the band Caballero was instrumental in attracting a large following of skateboarders to the band. Lead singer Gavin O'Brien was also a notable skateboarder, popular at local Winchester Skatepark. Drummer Craig Bosch has a skateboard trick named after him, "the Bosch" aka invert to blunt. Pro skateboarder Jeff Kendall would also play with The Faction during a brief reunion in 1989.

JFA is an American hardcore punk band formed in 1981, with roots in Arizona and in Southern California skateboard culture. The original members include Brian Brannon (vocals), Don "Redondo" Pendleton (guitar), Michael Cornelius (bass), and Mike "Bam-Bam" Sversvold (drums). Alan Bishop of Sun City Girls also played bass for a while. The band was pivotal in the development of the skate punk and Skate Rock scenes. Over the years, the lineup has included many bass players and drummers but the core of Brannon and Redondo has remained constant.

David González is a Colombian professional skateboarder. In December 2012, he was named Thrasher magazine's "Skater of the Year".
