Blokker is a village in the northwest Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West Friesland.
Blokker consists of two parts: Westerblokker in the municipality of Hoorn, and Oosterblokker in Drechterland. Until 1979, Blokker was a separate municipality. The village was one of the locations of the only three concerts on Dutch soil by The Beatles, during their 1964 world tour. That they played in Blokker was due to Ben Essing, the son of the mayor. Essing had also managed to get other acts to play in the Blokker auction hall, and organized a "Dutch Teener Fest" in 1964 and 1965, which made international headlines. [3]
There is a regular bus service to Hoorn railway station, which is, along with Hoorn Kersenboogerd railway station, the closest station to Blokker.

The municipality has just over 73,000 inhabitants and a land area of 20.38 km2 (7.87 sq mi), making it the third most densely populated municipality in North Holland after Haarlem and Amsterdam. Apart from the city of Hoorn, the municipality includes the villages of Blokker and Zwaag, as well as parts of the hamlets De Bangert, De Hulk and Munnickaij.

Ben Essing was a Dutch impresario from Blokker, Netherlands. The son of the town's mayor, he was instrumental in getting a number of international acts to play in the local auction hall where ordinarily produce was sold, most notably The Beatles, who played two shows there during their 1964 world tour, their only concerts in the Netherlands.
