Bob Abbott (November 1,1932 –March 23,2010) [1] was an American lawyer and jurist who served as a justice of the Kansas Supreme Court from September 1,1990,to June 6,2003.
Abbott was born in Hodgeman County,Kansas. He earned an associate of arts degree from Dodge City Junior College,a Bachelor of Science from Emporia State University in 1956,and a law degree from Washburn University School of Law in 1960. [2] He later in 1986 received a Masters in Law from the University of Virginia. [2]
Abbot served in the United States Air Force,where he was a navigator on an Douglas C-124 Globemaster II. He worked as a lawyer for 17 years for a Junction City law firm. [3] Prior to being appointed to the Kansas Supreme Court Abbott,had been the chief judge of the Kansas Court of Appeals. [4] He had served on the Kansas Court of Appeals since its creation in 1977,and had written over 1000 court opinions. [3] [4]
Abbott was appointed to the Kansas Supreme Court to replace Chief Justice Robert H. Miller. [5] [3] Abbott retired from the court June 2003 and was replaced by Carol A. Beier. [6]
Shirley Schlanger Abrahamson was the 25th chief justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. An American lawyer and jurist,she was appointed to the court in 1976 by Governor Patrick Lucey,becoming the first female justice to serve on Wisconsin's highest court. She became the court's first female chief justice on August 1,1996,and served in that capacity until April 29,2015. In all,she served on the court for 43 years (1976–2019),making her the longest-serving justice in the history of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Robert Lawrence Gernon,was a district judge in Kansas 22nd District,from 1979 to 1988.
Carol Ann Beier is a former justice of the Kansas Supreme Court appointed by Governor Kathleen Sebelius. She took office September 5,2003,to replace retiring Justice Bob Abbott. She retired from the court on September 18,2020.
Nancy Louise Moritz is a United States circuit judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and former justice of the Kansas Supreme Court.

Clair E. Robb was a justice of the Kansas Supreme Court from January 10,1955,to August 6,1965. Robb,a Republican,was appointed to the Supreme Court seat vacated by Hugo T. Wedell,who did not seek re-election at the end of his term.
David Prager was a justice of the Kansas Supreme Court from December 4,1971,to January 12,1987,serving as chief justice from January 12,1987,to September 1,1988.
Edward Larson was a justice of the Kansas Supreme Court from September 1,1995,to September 4,2002.
