Bogdan Olteanu (born 29 October 1971) is a Romanian politician and lawyer. He was the president of the Chamber of Deputies (the lower house of the Romanian Parliament) between 2006 and 2008.
Olteanu had formerly been a member of the National Liberal Party (PNL) from 1991 to 2009,and held various positions in that political party. He was elected as deputy for Bucharest in the 2004 elections. In 2005,he was appointed Delegate Minister for Parliamentary Affairs in the Government of Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu.
After Adrian Năstase stepped down from the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies,Olteanu was announced by the governing Justice and Truth Alliance (DA) as their preferred candidate for the function. On 20 March 2006 he received a majority of 196 votes out of 306.
In October 2009,the Parliament favoured Bogdan Olteanu for the position of National Bank vice-governor,passing the independent Lucian Croitoru;On 19 October 2009,Olteanu stepped down from his position as vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies,and gave up PNL membership to pursue his post as vice-governor at the National Bank of Romania. Olteanu and his wife Cristina have two children,Thea (born 2004) and Alexandru (born 2006). He is the grandson of Communist activist Ghizela Vass.
Theodor Dumitru Stolojan is a Romanian politician who was Prime Minister of Romania from September 1991 to November 1992. An economist by training,he was also one of the presidents of the National Liberal Party (PNL) before being the founding leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLD) and then the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL). Călin Constantin Anton Popescu-Tăriceanu is a Romanian politician who was Prime Minister of Romania from 29 December 2004 to 22 December 2008. He was also president of the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the vice-president of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR),two positions he assumed in 2004.

The Democratic Liberal Party (PDL) won three more seats than PSD in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate,although the alliance headed by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) won more votes and a fractionally higher vote share. The Social Democratic Party (PSD) won the largest number of seats but was in opposition because the Justice and Truth Alliance (DA),the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR/RMDSZ),the Romanian Humanist Party,and the National Minorities formed a governing coalition. The Conservative Party (PC) withdrew in December 2006,meaning that the government lost the majority. In April 2007,the liberal Prime Minister,Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu,dismissed the Democratic Party (PD) ministers from the government and formed a minority government with the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR/RMDSZ),thereby marking the end of the Justice and Truth Alliance (DA).
Lucian Croitoru is a Romanian economist. On October 15,2009,following the defeat of Emil Boc's government through a motion of no confidence,President Traian Băsescu nominated Croitoru to be Prime Minister of Romania. The nomination was opposed by a majority of Parliament,which adopted a declaration asking for his withdrawal,and vowing support for the candidature of Klaus Iohannis. Croitoru assembled a proposed cabinet,but this was voted down by Parliament on November 4.
Tudor-Alexandru Chiuariu is a Romanian lawyer and politician. An independent,he served as Justice Minister in the Călin Popescu-Tăriceanu cabinet from April to December 2007. He represented Bacău County in the Romanian Chamber of Deputies from 2008 to 2012,and has represented Mehedinți County in the Romanian Senate since 2012.
Relu Fenechiu is a Romanian businessman and former politician. A former member of the National Liberal Party (PNL),he was a member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies for Iași County from 2004 to 2014. In the Victor Ponta cabinet,he served as Transport Minister from 2012 to 2013. Convicted of corruption in 2013,he went to prison the following year and was released in 2017.

The Cîțu Cabinet was the 131st government of Romania,led by the national liberal (PNL) Prime Minister Florin Cîțu. It was removed from office after a motion of no confidence passed by the Parliament with a record of 281 votes,the largest number of votes on a motion of no confidence since the Romanian Revolution.

A political crisis began on 1 September 2021 in Romania,engulfing both major coalition partners of the Cîțu Cabinet,namely the conservative-liberal National Liberal Party (PNL) and the progressive-liberal Save Romania Union (USR). The crisis also involved former prime minister Ludovic Orban (PNL),who was set to face Prime Minister Florin Cîțu (PNL) in a leadership election during the party congress on 25 September,with the latter eventually replacing the former. Orban would eventually resign from his position as President of the Chamber of Deputies,with him and his supporters subsequently splitting from the PNL,in order to form the Force of the Right (FD).
