BonBon Land is a 34-acre Danish amusement park located in Holme-Olstrup in the South of Zealand, approximately 100 km away from Copenhagen.
The Bonbon Land theme park dates back to Danish sweets boiler, Michael Spangsberg. He began producing candies with names that children would find humorous, such as 'mågeklatter' (Seagull Droppings) 'hundeprutter' (Dog Farts) and 'tissebleer' (Pee Diapers). [1]
As the candies became popular, consumers began wanting to tour the factory in Holme-Olstrup. However, the factory could not offer tours due to strict hygiene regulations, leading Michael Spangsberg to opening Bonbon-Land. [2]
In 1992, the park opened with a mini candy factory, a cinema, a shop, and four small boats shaped like ducks located in a small pond. Bonbon Land’s park covered an area of 85.000 m² (21 acres), increasing to 110.000 m² (27 acres) after the Beaver Rafting course was finished in 1998. [3] The park was expanded to its current size of 130.000 m² (32 acres) when the ’Vildsvinet’ ride was added in 2003.
BonBon Land was purchased by the Spanish entertainment company Parques Reunidos in 2007. [4]
The most expensive attractions are the Beaver Rafting course, with a price of 32 million DKK (Danish Krones; 4.7 Million US Dollars), 'Vildsvinet', with an estimated price of 25 million DKK (3.7 Million US Dollars), and 'Hankatten,' with a price of 20 million DKK (3 Million US Dollars) as of 2024. The new amusements added in 2010 were 'Svend Svingarm' and a new 4D cinema. In 2012, it was ranked as one of the weirdest parks by Time Magazine. [5]

Unlike temporary and mobile funfairs and carnivals, amusement parks are stationary and built for long-lasting operation. Kings Dominion is an amusement park in Doswell, Virginia, United States, twenty miles (30 km) north of Richmond and 75 miles (120 km) south of Washington, D.C. Lake Compounce is an amusement park located in Bristol and Southington, Connecticut. Opened in 1846, it is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the United States. Parque Warner Madrid is a theme park located 23 km (14 mi) southeast of Madrid, Spain, in the municipality of San Martín de la Vega. The park opened as Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid/Warner Bros. Park Madrid on 6 April 2002 and was owned by numerous Spanish investment groups, with Six Flags operating the park as part of the deal. In November 2004, the management arrangement with Six Flags was terminated, with the name change to Parque Warner Madrid occurring at the start of 2006.

The Allan Herschell Company was a company that specialized in the creation of amusement rides, particularly carousels and roller coasters. The company manufactured portable machines that could be used by traveling carnival operators. It was started in 1915 in the town of North Tonawanda, just outside Buffalo, New York, USA.
The Myrtle Beach Pavilion was a historic pay-per-ride, no parking fee, 11-acre amusement park that was located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at the corner of 9th Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard. It was just a few blocks down from another Myrtle Beach amusement park, the Family Kingdom Amusement Park; both in the "heart" of Myrtle Beach. "The Pavilion" had well over 40 different attractions for kids and thrill-seekers alike, and included the wooden rollercoaster Hurricane: Category 5. Despite all the best efforts made by citizens to save the park, it was lost to redevelopment in 2007. While the park was officially closed and became a vacant lot on 9th Avenue and Ocean Boulevard in 2007, some of the rides and attractions were moved to Broadway at the Beach. Broadway at the Beach and the land at 9th Avenue are both owned by Burroughs & Chapin.
Gerstlauer Amusement Rides GmbH is a German manufacturer of stationary and transportable amusement rides and roller coasters, located in Münsterhausen, Germany. As of May 2024, all 113 Gerstlauer-made rollercoasters are still in operation and at their original park, apart from Seifenkiste at Trampolino Familien- und Freizeitpark, which is currently in storage, and Pandemonium at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, which now operates at Six Flags Mexico under the name of Joker.
Tusenfryd is an amusement park at Vinterbro, Norway. The park is located 20 kilometers south of Oslo. Two of the longest motorway corridors in Norway, E6 and E18, meet nearby Tusenfryd and the park is located on the west side near where they meet. SpeedMonster, SuperSplash, ThunderCoaster and SpaceShot make the park visible from the motorway. The park was officially opened on 11 June 1988, after a construction period of 18 months. Fårup Summer Park is a theme park located in Fårup between Blokhus and Løkken in North Jutland, Denmark. The park, as the name suggests, is open during the summer months and attracts about 600,000 people each season. Dragon Park is the largest theme park in Southeast Asia located in Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Vietnam. It opened on January 25, 2017.
