Olatunbosun Tijani (born 20 July 1977) is a Nigerian-British entrepreneur and current Nigerian Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, appointed in 2023. [1] [2]
In 2019, Tijani oversaw CcHUB's acquisition of Kenya's iHub [3] and the establishment of the CcHUB Design Lab in Kigali, Rwanda. [4] He also serves as a visiting adjunct professor at the Wits School of Governance. [5]
Tijani was born in Agege, Lagos, Nigeria, and completed his secondary education in Abeokuta before pursuing studies at the University of Jos, initially in Computer Science and later Economics, earning a Bachelor's degree in 2002. He furthered his education with an MSc in Information Systems and Management from Warwick Business School in 2007. In 2023, Tijani obtained a PhD in innovation and economic development from the University of Leicester, focusing on innovation adoption in developing countries. [6]

Before CcHUB, Tijani worked at the International Trade Centre in Geneva, focusing on enterprise management development across Africa and extending into Ethiopia, South Africa, and Tanzania. [7]
Hewlett Packard
At Hewlett Packard, Tijani managed educational initiatives across Africa, including the deployment of learning centers at institutions like the Africa Virtual University and the Lagos Business School. [8]
Pera Innovation Network
Joining Pera Innovation Network in 2007 as European Innovation Manager, Tijani coordinated innovation efforts across Europe and managed EU-funded projects aimed at fostering entrepreneurial innovation in sectors like technical textiles. [9]
Co-Creation Hub
Co-founding CcHUB in 2010, Tijani spearheaded initiatives that transformed Yaba into a tech hub, facilitating projects in sectors such as healthcare (LifeBank), e-commerce (Traclist), and civic engagement (GoVOTE). [10]
Tijani resides in Abuja, Nigeria, and Leicester, UK, with his wife Moji and their three children. [11]
Lagos, or Lagos City, is a city in Nigeria. With an estimated population of 21 million in 2015, it claimed to be the most populous in the country. Lagos is the most populous urban area in Africa.
