Thomas Peter Rademacher was an American heavyweight boxer. As an amateur, he was a gold medalist at the 1956 Olympics. Rademacher became the only person to challenge for the world heavyweight championship in his first professional bout when he faced Floyd Patterson in Seattle on August 22, 1957. He compiled a 15-7-1 record over 23 professional bouts.
Daniel "Daan" Wepener Bekker was a South African boxer, who won the bronze medal in the Heavyweight division at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. Four years later in Rome he captured the silver medal in the same category.
Lev Dmitrievich Mukhin was a Soviet heavyweight boxer. He won a silver medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics, losing the final to Pete Rademacher, who scored three knockdowns before the bout was stopped. Coming into the final Mukhin had knocked out all his opponents, despite two of them knocking him down in the first round.
Giacomo "Mino" Bozzano was a former Italian boxer, who won the bronze medal in the Heavyweight division at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. He lost to Lev Mukhin of the Soviet Union and was eliminated, but then, at just age 23 he went into pro boxing post-Olympics.
