The events will be held during the second week between February 21 and 21, 2011. [2] Boxing events were scheduled for just men.
In weight categories with less than 8 competitors, only one bronze medal was awarded. For the 91 kg category no bronze medal was awarded as only 5 athletes took part.

Colleen P. Jones is a Canadian curler and television personality. She is best known as the skip of two women's world championship teams and six Tournament of Hearts Canadian women's championships, including an unprecedented four titles in a row and held the record for most Tournament of Hearts wins from when she won her 67th game 1994 until her eventual 152 wins were eclipsed by Jennifer Jones in 2021.

The Halifax Forum is an arena and multi-purpose facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Its uses include sporting events, bingo, ice skating, concerts and markets. It was built in 1927 on the site of the former Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition which was badly damaged by the Halifax explosion in 1917. It opened on 26 December 1927 and incorporated the first artificial ice surface east of Montreal. It is the second biggest arena in Nova Scotia, and the fifth biggest in Atlantic Canada. The building was added to the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 2003.
Raymond Tyler Downey is a Canadian boxer, who won a light middleweight bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. In 1990 he gained silver at the 1990 Commonwealth Games. He is a member of Nova Scotia's "Boxing Downeys" family of fighters. His father was boxer David Downey. Raymond has four children a son Tylor Flint, daughter Raya Flint, also two younger daughters Genevia and Summer Downey.
Aileen Aletha Meagher was a Canadian athlete who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics, sharing bronze in the 4×100 metres event. She was also a painter.
Ricky Anderson is a retired Canadian boxer, born in historic Africville, Nova Scotia. Anderson was due to represent Canada at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, but the Canadian teams boycotted the event. He soon became a top amateur boxer, and later a champion professional boxer.

She has since become an entrepreneur in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has held a number of positions in Canadian Olympic sport, Government Stewardship and in the Arts and Culture community.
