Brad Hawkins (born July 26, 1998) is a former American football safety. After a stint in the National Football League, Hawkins returned to his alma mater, the University of Michigan as a graduate assistant coach. Hawkins was an All-Big Ten safety with Michigan. [1]
Hawkins attended MetEast High School before transferring to Camden High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball along with football before graduating in 2016 and going on to do a post-graduate year at Suffield Academy. [2] [3]
Hawkins played for five years for Michigan, appearing in a program-record 56 games, with 31 starts at the free safety position. He was a third-team all-Big Ten selection in 2021. [4]
After going undrafted in the 2022 NFL draft, Hawkins signed with the Atlanta Falcons as a free agent. He was cut by the Falcons on July 6, 2022. [5]
On August 2, 2022, Hawkins signed with the New England Patriots. [6] He was waived during final roster cuts on August 30. [7] Though primarily signed for practice squad use, he played in the Patriots three preseason games. He was cut from the team on October 3, 2022. [8] He signed a reserve/future contract on January 10, 2023. [9] He was released by the Patriots on August 27, 2023. [10]
Mark William Ortmann is a former American football offensive tackle. He was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent after the 2010 NFL Draft, and was waived two months later. He later signed with the Atlanta Falcons on August 23, 2010, but was waived on August 28. He had previously played four years for the Michigan Wolverines football team, where he was a regular starter at offensive tackle as a redshirt junior and senior for the 2008 and 2009 teams.
Camden Big Picture Learning Academy is a four-year public high school in the City of Camden, in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as part of the Camden City Public Schools.
