Brian Rush (born 1958 or 1959) is an American politician from the state of Florida. A member of the Democratic Party,he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995.
Rush worked as an attorney. [1] In 2021,Rush was accused of wrongdoing in a 2018 eminent domain case. The Florida Bar alleged that Rush worked against the interests of his client in order to enrich himself,recommending a three-year suspension of Rush's law license. Rush denied wrongdoing and challenged the decision in court. [2] The Florida Supreme Court ruled against Rush in 2023,upholding the three-year suspension. [3] On July 27,2023,Rush resigned his license to practice law,informing the state Bar that he had closed his law practice. [4]
Rush was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1986. He was re-elected three times before losing to Republican Rob Wallace in 1994. [5] He sponsored a landmark bill to reduce class sizes. His focus was on environmental protection and First Amendment rights. [1]
In 2022,Rush returned to politics by running in that year's U.S. Senate election. He finished second in the Democratic primary with 6.28% of the vote. [1]

Theodore Edward Rokita is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 44th and current Attorney General of Indiana. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from Indiana's 4th congressional district from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party,he served two terms as Secretary of State of Indiana from 2002 to 2010. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Florida since January 6,2015,as a result of a ruling in Brenner v. Scott from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida. The court ruled the state's same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional on August 21,2014. The order was stayed temporarily. State attempts at extending the stay failed,with the U.S. Supreme Court denying further extension on December 19,2014. In addition,a state court ruling in Pareto v. Ruvin allowed same-sex couples to obtain marriage licenses in Miami-Dade County on the afternoon of January 5,2015. In another state case challenging the state's denial of marriage rights to same-sex couples,a Monroe County court in Huntsman v. Heavilin stayed enforcement of its decision pending appeal and the stay expired on January 6,2015.

Andrew Howard Warren is an American prosecutor and politician who has been the state attorney for Florida's 13th Judicial Circuit,Hillsborough County since 2017. In August 2022,Florida Governor Ron DeSantis suspended Warren. On June 22,2023 the Florida State Supreme Court dismissed a suit filed by Warren challenging his dismissal. In early 2024,a U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that DeSantis violated Warren's First Amendment rights and sent the case back,assuring the original judge he had the authority to reinstate the state attorney. Warren was previously a federal prosecutor in the fraud division at the United States Department of Justice.
