Bruce Colin Francis (born 18 February 1948) is a former Australian cricketer who played three Test matches on the Australian tour of England in 1972.
Francis was a hard-hitting opening batsman,who played for New South Wales from 1968–69 to 1972–73,Essex in 1971 and 1973,and toured South Africa with the D.H. Robins XI in 1973-74 and 1974–75.
A political science graduate,Francis helped Kerry Packer organise World Series Cricket,became James Packer's private cricket coach,and later helped organise the "rebel" Australian tours to South Africa in 1985-86 and 1986–87. [1]
Francis also provided a response to the World Anti-Doping Agency's ban on 34 past and present players of Australian Football League (AFL) club Essendon. [2]
World Series Cricket (WSC) was a commercial professional cricket competition staged between 1977 and 1979 which was organised by Kerry Packer and his Australian television network,Nine Network. WSC ran in commercial competition to established international cricket. World Series Cricket drastically changed the nature of cricket,and its influence continues to be felt today.

Gregory Stephen Chappell is a former cricketer who represented Australia at international level in both Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODI). The second of three brothers to play Test cricket,Chappell was the pre-eminent Australian batsman of his time who allied elegant stroke making to fierce concentration. An exceptional all round player who bowled medium pace and,at his retirement,held the world record for the most catches in Test cricket,Chappell's career straddled two eras as the game moved toward a greater level of professionalism after the WSC schism. He was the vice captain of the Australian squad which finished as runners-up at the 1975 Cricket World Cup.
International cricket in South Africa between 1971 and 1981 consisted of four private tours arranged by English sports promoter Derrick Robins,two tours by a private team called the "International Wanderers",and one women's Test match. The apartheid policy followed by the South African Governments of the day meant that no Test match playing nation was willing to tour,thereby depriving world cricket of leading stars such as Graeme Pollock,Barry Richards,Clive Rice and Eddie Barlow.

Edgar John Barlow was a South African cricketer. Barlow was born in Pretoria,Transvaal,South Africa,and played first-class cricket for Transvaal and Eastern Province from 1959–60 to 1967–68 before moving to Western Province for the seasons from 1968–69 to 1980–81. During this time he also played three seasons with Derbyshire in the English County Championship from 1976 –1978. He completed his first-class career in Boland in 1982–83. Barlow was named as one of the six South African Cricket Annual players of the year in 1962.
Bernard Denis Julien is a Trinidad and Tobago cricketer who played as an allrounder. As a right handed batsman who bowled left arm pace and spin,Julien played in 24 Tests and 12 One Day Internationals for the West Indies. He was a noteworthy member of the Windies' 1975 World Cup winning squad. Julien also featured for Trinidad and Tobago and English side Kent in his cricketing career.
The South African rebel tours were a series of seven cricket tours staged between 1982 and 1990. They were known as the rebel tours because the international cricketing bodies banned South Africa from competitive international cricket throughout this period because of apartheid. As such the tours were organised and conducted in spite of the express disapproval of national cricket boards and governments,the International Cricket Conference and international organisations such as the United Nations. The tours were the subject of enormous contemporaneous controversy and remain a sensitive topic throughout the cricket-playing world.
