Buckley Garrison (B GAR) is a garrison command in the United States Space Force, responsible providing installation support functions for the resident air operations, space-based missile warning capabilities, space surveillance operations, and space communications missions at Buckley Space Force Base, Cape Cod Space Force Station, Cavalier Space Force Station, and Clear Space Force Station. It also provides Airmen and Space Professionals that deploy and are deployed in-place, to support Combatant Commanders in order to accomplish warfighting missions globally. [3]

The Buckley Garrison hosts six major base partners: Delta 4 (Missile Warning Delta), 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard (COANG); the Navy Operational Support Center; the Aerospace Data Facility-Colorado; the Army Aviation Support Facility and the Air Reserve Personnel Center. Formerly the 460th Space Wing, it was redesignated as Buckley Garrison on 24 July 2020. [4] Eventually, Buckley Garrison will be redesignated as Space Base Delta 2. [5]

Its current commander is Colonel Marcus D. Jackson. [3]

460th Space Wing United States Space Force wing

The 460th Space Wing was the United States Space Force's space-based infrared surveillance, tracking, and missile warning wing. the 460th Space Wing was assigned to Space Operations Command and stationed at Buckley Air Force Base. The 460th Space Wing was activated on 1 October 2001, replacing the 821st Space Group. It was inactivated on 24 July 2020 and replaced by the Buckley Garrison.

Space and Missile Systems Center U.S. Space Force research and development center

The Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the United States Space Force acquisitions and development center and is headquartered at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB), California. It was first established as the Western Development Division on 1 April 1954 and is the oldest space organization in the U.S. Armed Forces. Initially, it had responsibility for ballistic missiles, gaining space responsibilities in 1955. In 1957, it was redesignated as the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division. With the standup of Air Force Systems Command in 1961, the Air Force Ballistic Missile Division was split, forming the Space Systems Division and Ballistic Systems Division. In 1967, they were remerged as the Space and Missiles Systems Organization, before being split again in 1979 into the Space Division and Ballistic Missile Office. In 1990, both organizations regained their former names of the Space Systems Division and Ballistic Systems Division, however the Ballistic Systems Division was renamed the Ballistic Missile Office and subordinated to the Space Systems Division. In 1992, Air Force Systems Command was inactivated and replaced with Air Force Materiel Command, and the Space Systems Division was renamed the Space and Missile Systems Center. In 2001, it was transferred from Air Force Materiel Command to Air Force Space Command, becoming part of the U.S. Space Force at its formation in 2019.

Space Launch Delta 30 United States Space Force launch wing

Space Launch Delta 30 is a United States Space Force space launch delta assigned to Space Operations Command and headquartered at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The Space Launch Delta 30 is responsible for all space launch operations from the west coast, which includes all polar launches. It manages the Western Range and launch activities for the Space Force, Department of Defense, NASA, and other private space corporations. The Space Launch Delta 30 also supports test and evaluation launches of the U.S. Air Force's intercontinental ballistic missile force.

Space Launch Delta 45 Military unit

The Space Launch Delta 45 is a delta of the United States Space Force. The Space Launch Delta 45 is assigned to Space Operations Command and headquartered at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida. The wing also controls Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The 45th Space Delta is responsible for all space launch operations from the East Coast. It manages the Eastern Range, including launch activities for the Space Force, Department of Defense (DoD), NASA, and other private space corporations.

16th Space Control Squadron Military unit

The 16th Space Control Squadron is an active United States Space Force unit, stationed at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado as part of the Space Delta 3. The squadron protects critical satellite communication links to detect, characterize, geolocate and report sources of electromagnetic interference on US military and commercial satellites. The squadron also provides combat-ready crews to deploy and employ defensive space control capabilities for theater combatant commanders. The squadron is Air Force Space Command's first defensive counterspace unit.

The 2d Space Warning Squadron Is part of the Space Delta 4 at Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado. It operates the Space-Based Infrared System satellites conducting global monitoring for significant infrared events.

233rd Space Group Military unit

The 233d Space Group is a unit of the Colorado Air National Guard located at Greeley Air National Guard Station, Greeley. The 233d Space Group provides immediate, worldwide missile warning, space launch and detection in the event of an attack against the United States. If activated to federal service, the Wing is gained by the United States Air Force Space Command.

James E. Smith (general) Peterson-Schriever Garrison commander

James Earl Smith is a United States Space Force colonel who has served as the Deputy United States Military Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization since July 2021. He most recently served as the commander of the Peterson-Schriever Garrison, a new unit in the United States Space Force. He was previously the commander of the 50th Space Wing before it was inactivated and replaced by the Peterson-Schriever Garrison. He was also nominated for transfer to the U.S. Space Force and promotion to brigadier general.

Peterson-Schriever Garrison United States Space Force garrison command

Peterson-Schriever Garrison is a United States Space Force garrison command. It is assigned to Space Operations Command and headquartered at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. The Peterson-Schriever Garrison is responsible for Peterson Space Force Base, Schriever Space Force Base, and Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station in Colorado, Thule Air Base in Greenland, New Boston Space Force Station in New Hampshire, and Kaena Point Space Force Station in Hawaii. The Peterson-Schriever Garrison was activated on 24 July 2020, replacing the 21st Space Wing and the 50th Space Wing.

Space Delta 7 U.S. Space Force intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance delta

Space Delta 7 is the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) delta of the United States Space Force. The delta provides actionable and time-sensitive intelligence for space domain operations including detection, characterization and targeting of adversary space capabilities. The unit employs a variety of fixed and mobile sensors across the globe operated by intelligence professionals to enable its mission to gain and maintain information dominance in the space domain in the execution of National Defense Strategy priorities.
