The Bucknell Bison men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Bucknell University [2] in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. They are an NCAA Division I team and member of the Patriot League. [3]
Through its history, Bucknell has played in the Middle Atlantic Conference (1947–73), East Coast Conference (1974–89) and Patriot League (1990-pres.). Bucknell has won all four of its Patriot League titles since 2006 and in doing so has been one of the most successful Patriot League teams in that time. [4]
The Bison are currently coached by Dave Brandt.
Bucknell has made seven appearances in the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championships. The Bison have advanced to the second round three times by defeating Penn State in 1974, George Mason in 2006 and Princeton in 2009. [5]

Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium hosts games for Bucknell's men's and women's soccer teams. Located on campus, the natural grass pitch was completed in 2005 with the remainder of the lighted stadium and grandstand finished in 2007. [8]
The stadium has an official seating capacity of 1,250 with additional seating on the grass hill behind the north endline. The pitch surface is sand-based Kentucky Blue grass and is 120 by 75 yards. [8]
The field was dedicated as Bison Varsity Soccer Field on September 16, 2005, prior to Bucknell's 3-2 women's soccer victory over Marist. [8] It has since played host to the Patriot League Men's Soccer Tournament in 2009 [4] and the Patriot League women's soccer tournament in 2006, 2007 and 2016. [9]
Holmes Stadium is named to honor the donation from Stephen P. Holmes '79, Chairman and CEO of Wyndham Worldwide and also includes Graham Field (field hockey and women's lacrosse). Emmitt Field was rededicated as such in 2008 in honor of lead donor Richard Emmitt '67, [10] General Partner at The Vertical Group.
The Patriot League is a collegiate athletic conference comprising private institutions of higher education and two United States service academies based in the Northeastern United States. Except for the Ivy League, it is the most selective group of higher education institutions in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and has a very high student-athlete graduation rate for both the NCAA graduation success rate and the federal graduation rate.
Christy Mathewson–Memorial Stadium is a 13,100-seat multi-purpose stadium at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Originally built in 1924, the stadium was renovated and renamed in honor of Mathewson in 1989. It is home to the Bucknell Bison football, men's lacrosse, and track and field teams from the Patriot League, as well as the Lewisburg Area High School Green Dragons football team.
Davis Gym is an indoor athletics facility on the campus of Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. It is currently home to Bucknell Bison volleyball and wrestling. It was the primary venue for basketball and other indoor sports until the Sojka Pavilion opened in 2003. It hosted the Patriot League men's basketball tournament title game in 1993. Following renovations in the 1990s to add reserved seats, Davis Gym's listed capacity was 2,500, though on occasion standing room crowds exceeded that.
The Bucknell Bison are the athletic teams that represent Bucknell University. The program is a member of the Patriot League for most NCAA Division I sports and Division I FCS in football.
The Bucknell Bison football team represents Bucknell University in college football at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision level. Bucknell is a member of the Patriot League. Bucknell won the first Orange Bowl, 26–0, over the Miami Hurricanes on January 1, 1935.
The Bucknell Bison men's lacrosse team represents Bucknell University in the Patriot League of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's lacrosse. Bucknell has played lacrosse at the varsity level since 1968.
The 2015–16 Bucknell Bison women's basketball team represented Bucknell University during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bison, led by fifth year head coach Aaron Roussell, played their home games at Sojka Pavilion and were members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 25–8, 17–1 in Patriot League play to share the Patriot League regular season title with Army. They advanced to the semifinals of the Patriot League women's tournament where they lost to Loyola (MD). As champs of the Patriot League who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament they defeated Akron in the first round before losing to Michigan in the second round.
The 2016–17 Bucknell Bison women's basketball team represented Bucknell University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bison, led by sixth year head coach Aaron Roussell, played their home games at Sojka Pavilion and were members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 27–6, 16–2 in Patriot League play win Patriot League regular season title. They won the Patriot League women's tournament to earn an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament for the first time since 2008, where they lost to Maryland in the first round.
The 2016 Patriot League women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Patriot League held from November 1 to 6, 2016. The five match tournament was held at campus sites, with the semifinals and final held at Emmitt Field in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The six team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Boston University Terriers were the defending tournament champions after defeating the Bucknell Bison in the championship match.

The 2014 Patriot League Men's Soccer Tournament was the 25th edition of the tournament. It determined the Patriot League's automatic berth into the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.
The 2017 Patriot League women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Patriot League held from October 31 through November 5, 2017. The quarterfinals of the tournament will be held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Glenn Warner Soccer Facility in Annapolis, Maryland. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Bucknell Bison and they successfully defended their title, defeating the Navy Midshipmen in the conference final. The conference championship was the fourth for the Bucknell women's soccer program and the second for head coach Kelly Cook.

They finished the season 21–12, 13–5 in Patriot League play, to earn a share of the Patriot League regular season championship. As the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League tournament, they defeated Holy Cross and Lehigh before losing to Colgate in the championship game. They were not selected for postseason play.

The quarterfinals of the tournament will be held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Nickerson Field in Boston, Massachusetts. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Bucknell Bison, however they were unable to defend their crown, losing to Lehigh 2–1 in the first round. The tournament was won by the Boston University Terriers, who were the #1 seed and defeated Lehigh 1–0 in the final. The conference championship was the fourth for the Boston University women's soccer program, all of which have come under coach Nancy Feldman.

Bucknell won the Patriot Conference tournament championship game over American, 66–54 to earn an automatic trip to NCAA women's tournament. They lost in the first round to Florida State. They finished the season 28–5, 16–2 in Patriot League play, to share the Patriot League regular season title with American. With 28 wins, they finished with the most wins in program history.

The Bison, led by fifth-year head coach Nathan Davis, played their home games at Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania as members of the Patriot League. They finished the season 14–20, 8–10 in Patriot League play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They defeated Holy Cross and American to advance to the semifinals of the Patriot League tournament where they lost to Boston University.

The 2024 Bucknell Bison football team will represent Bucknell University as a member of the Patriot League during the 2024 NCAA Division I FCS football season.
