Buds is a 1991 compilation album released by Australian alternative rock group, The Stems, on Citadel Records. [1]
The Stems are a garage punk band formed in Perth, Western Australia in late 1983. They were founded by Dom Mariani in late 1983. The Stems are heavily influenced by 1960s garage rock and 1970s power pop. The band initially broke up in August 1987 and reformed in 2003, releasing a new album in 2007. Although the group disbanded in October 2009, as of 2013 The Stems are an ongoing live concern.
Wendy Joan Matthews is a Canadian-born Australian singer-songwriter who has been a member of Models and Absent Friends and is a solo artist. She released Top 20 hit singles in the 1990s including "Token Angels", "Let's Kiss ", "The Day You Went Away" and "Friday's Child" with Top 20 albums, You've Always Got The Blues, Émigré, Lily, The Witness Tree and her compilation, Stepping Stones. She has won six Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Awards. According to rock music historian, Ian McFarlane she provides "extraordinary, crystal-clear vocals [...] a soulfulness that was the mark of a truly gifted singer".
"Woodstock" is a popular song written by Joni Mitchell. Three versions of the song were released in the same year, 1970. The cover by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young appeared on their March 1970 album Déjà Vu, prior to Mitchell's own version on her April 1970 album Ladies of the Canyon. The CSNY version has become a staple of classic rock radio and is the best-known version in the United States. Mitchell's version was the B-side to her single "Big Yellow Taxi". The third version, by the British band Matthews Southern Comfort became the best known version in the United Kingdom, and was the highest charting version of the song, reaching the top of the UK singles chart in 1970.
David Daniel "Davey" Lane is an Australian musician. He is a solo artist and lead guitarist of You Am I. He was also lead singer-guitarist of The Pictures and member of Australian supergroup, The Wrights.
Venetta Lee Fields is an American-born singer, musical theater actress and vocal coach. She was a backing vocalist for American and British rock and pop acts of the 1960s and 1970s, including Ike & Tina Turner, Pink Floyd, Humble Pie, Barbra Streisand, Elkie Brooks, Neil Diamond, Steely Dan, Bob Seger, and the Rolling Stones. After emigrating to Australia in 1982, she became an Australian citizen. She recorded or toured as a backing singer for Australian artists Richard Clapton, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, James Morrison and John Farnham.
Nick Sheppard is a Bristol-born guitarist. He played lead guitar for The Clash from 1983 until the band's breakup in 1986.
The Someloves were an alternative rock band from Perth, Western Australia which formed in 1986. They were led by Dom Mariani, on guitar and lead vocals; and Darryl Mather on lead guitar. The group's sole album, Something or Other, was released in April 1990 and reached the Top 100 on the ARIA Albums Chart. They were noted for their 1980s power-pop underground style. Various personal issues and problems with the idea of touring led to the group disbanding by the end of 1990.
"Crash into Me" is a song by American rock group Dave Matthews Band. It was released in December 1996 as the third single from their second album, Crash. It reached number 7 on the US Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in March 1997. The song was nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

At First Sight, Violets Are Blue is the debut studio album by Australian alternative rock group, The Stems, released in August 1987 through Mushroom Records' White Label on vinyl. The title track "At First Sight" gained mainstream airplay and a position on the Young Einstein sound track. "At First Sight" became the band's signature track and the album is still rated as one of the best Australian guitar pop releases. In the early nineties Rolling Stone included it in the top 100 Australian releases of all time.
Mushroom Soup: The Citadel Years is an anthology album from The Stems, released in 2003 through Citadel Records. It is a collection of all the band's singles, songs from their debut EP, Love Will Grow - Rosebud Volume 1, previously unreleased demos and alternative song versions and a video for "Tears Me In Two".
Terminal Cool is an anthology album from alternative rock group, The Stems, released in Australia on 26 June 2005 and in the United States on 6 December that year. It is a collection of the band's recordings between 1983 and 1985. It includes four tracks: "Terminal Cool", "Sad Girl" and "Spaceship", which were not included on a previous compilation album, Mushroom Soup: The Citadel Years, although it omits "Power of Love".

Domenic Desio Mariani is an Australian guitarist, vocalist, producer, and songwriter. Mariani has been a member of several bands since the early 1980s, including The Stems, The Someloves, DM3, Datura, The Majestic Kelp and the Domnicks. The Stems is the best-known and most successful of Mariani's projects. Australian musicologist Ian McFarlane described the power pop group as "one of the best live bands on the Australian scene".
"The Ballad of Tom Jones" is a song by English band Space and Cerys Matthews, lead singer of Welsh band Catatonia. Lead singer Tommy Scott described Tom Jones as 'brilliant'. The song became a highly successful radio single, and resulted in Space performing with Jones in Jools Holland's' New Year's Eve television programme.

From 1994 to 2002 Glatzer won a total of eight West Australian Music Industry Awards for his work.
The Psychotic Turnbuckles are an Australian garage punk band that originated in Sydney, which was formed in 1984. The group's original members were "Jesse the Intruder"(vocals), "The Grand Wizard" (guitar), "El Sicodelico" (guitar), 'The Creep',, and 'The Spoiler', (drums), who died in 2013.
Primal Park is the debut studio album by Australian rock band Mondo Rock, released in October 1979 and peaked at number 40 on the Kent Music Report. The album is a mixture of live recordings and studio recordings. It spawned the non-charting singles "Searching for My Baby" and "Primal Park", both of which were studio recordings. In 2009, the album was remastered and included eight bonus tracks.
