The Bunyog Party, officially known as Bunyog (Pagkakaisa) Party, is a political organization in the Philippines seeking partylist representation in the House of Representatives. It advocates for unity, social justice, and national sovereignty, particularly in response to issues such as China's activities in the disputed South China Sea. The party has gained attention for its active participation in national elections and its support for senatorial candidates, including David D'Angelo.

Background

The Bunyog Party was founded with the goal of promoting unity (pagkakaisa) and addressing pressing national issues, including territorial disputes and social inequality. The party has been vocal in its opposition to China's imposition of its claims in the disputed South China Sea, organizing rallies and mobilizing public support to defend Philippine sovereignty. [1]

Electoral participation

2025 elections

The Bunyog Party has been actively involved in the 2025 Philippine elections. As an aspirant partylist in the House of Representatives, Bunyog is fielding Ricky Tomotorgo as their first nominee. [2]

It endorsed David D'Angelo as its senatorial candidate, filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). [3]

The party also supported the candidacy of Norman Causing, whose eligibility as a senatorial candidate was questioned. The Bunyog Party defended Causing's candidacy, asserting that it was valid under existing election laws. [4] Following Causing's disqualification, the party joined calls for COMELEC to reinstate him as a candidate. [5]
