Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyesi Spor Kulübü, also known as Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor or simply Bursa B.B. SK, is a Turkish multi-sport club sponsored by the Metropolitan Municipality of Bursa in Turkey.
Established in 1980 with five sports departments, Bursa Büyükşehir Belediye SK are currently active in 17 sports genres performed by around 5,000 licensed athletes. The club focuses on infrastructure. [1]
The club has dedicated facilities available such as a table tennis hall, a wrestling hall as well as indoor and open-air tennis courts and swimming pools, which are also open to the public. Its Acemler Sports Hall hosts basketball, volleyball and karate events. [1]
The women's basketball team plays in the Turkish Women's Basketball Second League [2] and the women's volleyball team competes in the Turkish Women's Volleyball League. [3]
The club's women's table tennis team consisting of Elena Dubkova (BLR), Sibel Ismail Remzi (TUR), Anamaria Sebe (ROM), Aylin Öztürk (TUR), Özge Şener (TUR) and Filiz Bozkurt (TUR) competed at the 2012-2013 Women's ETTU Cup. [4] In the Group C, they won against USD Tennistavola Zeus from Italy (3-1), losing however to the Austrian TTC Carinthiawinds-Villacher (1-3) and Russian KFU Kazan (0-3) in the second round failing to advance to the third round. Şeyma Ercan is a Turkish volleyball player who plays for Türk Hava Yolları SK. She is 186 cm (6.10 ft) tall at 69 kg (152 lb) and plays in the wing spiker position. Şeyma began playing volleyball in 2005 at Gazi University's Sport Club in her hometown. She was encouraged by coach Elif Öz. She is a member of the Turkey women's youth national volleyball team, and wears number 5. In 2009, at the age of only 15, she became a member of the A-team, which played in the Turkish Women's Volleyball Second League. She transferred to Beşiktaş Women's Volleyball Team in Istanbul in the 2011-2012 season. In September 2012, she signed a three-year contract with Eczacıbaşı VitrA, which then loaned her out for one year to Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor. She spent next two years at Eczacıbaşı VitrA. In 2015, she transferred to Fenerbahçe Grundig Women's Volleyball Team. Şeyma Ercan debuted in the girls' youth national team in 2011 playing at the 2011 CEV Girls Youth Volleyball European Championship, where her team won the gold medal and she was honored with the Best Server title. She won the 2012 Women's Junior European Volleyball Championship with the national team.
The Edip Buran Arena, formerly Yenişehir Belediyesi Sports Hall, is a multi-sport indoor arena at Yenişehir district of Mersin, Turkey. Built in 1971, it is owned by the Youth Services and Sports Directoriate of Mersin. The sports hall has a seating capacity of 1,750. It was renovated for the 2013 Mediterranean Games, and the new sports hall went on January 20, 2013 in service.
