Byadh (The Hunter) is a Bengali crime thriller streaming television series directed by Abhirup Ghosh and based on Rajarshi Das Bhowmick's story Chorai Hatya Rohoshya. [1] It was released on Hoichoi OTT platform on 11 February 2022 under the banner of Zeoline Media production. [2] It stars Anirban Chakraborty, Rajatava Dutta and Kharaj Mukherjee in pivotal roles. The series begins when an unnamed mysterious man is brutally killing sparrows in different villages of West Bengal. Police commissioner sends the case to the Department of unusual cases. This department deals with worthless issues which are considered to be unimportant by the police. Experienced officer Kanaicharan and newcomer Souvik are investigating the cases. Both get deeply involved in the matter and the cat and mouse game begins. It reveals that someone is killing sparrows following the ideology of Four Pests campaign. [5] [6]

The movie is a remake of 2010 Tamil movie Singam. It stars Jeet, Supriyo Dutta and Nusrat Jahan in lead roles, while Kharaj Mukherjee, Dipankar De, Biswajit Chakraborty, Saayoni Ghosh, Raja Dutta and Biplab Chatterjee played other pivotal roles. The movie is a remake of 2011 Telugu movie Dookudu which itself was inspired from German film Good Bye, Lenin! (2003). It stars Dev, Puja Banerjee, Tapas Paul, Ashish Vidyarthi and in lead roles, alongside, Rajatava Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Subhasish Mukherjee and Kaushik Chakraborty in another pivotal roles, with Biswanath Basu and Labani Sarkar in guest appearances. The film is a spiritual sequel to the 2009 film Challenge, but contains a very different storyline. It revolves around an undercover officer as well as IPS Abhiraj Roy, who is on a mission to bring down the dreaded don Guru Nayak. But all on a sudden tragically he transforms into an MLA to fulfill his father's wish, who was in coma after meeting an conspiring accident as he was an honest and celebrated politician amongst the masses.
Byomkesh was a 2014 Indian Bengali crime fiction television series based on the Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay.
