Kharaj Mukherjee or Kharaj Mukhopadhyay is an Indian actor. He completed his early education from St. Lawrence High School, Kolkata [1] He made his debut in Bengali film with the film Hulusthul in 1980. In the last 32 years, he has worked in many films like Patalghar , Bye Bye Bangkok , Kahani , Namesake , [2] Accident , Muktodhara , Special 26 , Lafangey Parindey , [3] Yuva , [3] Parineeta , [3] Laga Chunari Mein Daag , [3] Chha-e Chhuti , Jaatishwar etc. He is a student of the drama maestro Ramaprasad Banik. He is known for his excellence in both Commercial and natural acting. In 2012 film Kahaani , Mukherjee played the role of Inspector Chatterjee. [4] [5] Mukherjee won Bengal Film Journalists' Association – Best Male Playback Award in 2004 for the film Patalghar . Over the years, he has established himself as one of the finest actors in the Bengali film industry due to his versatility in various roles. [6] [7] [8] [9] His son, Bihu Mukherjee debuted in the film Abar Basanta Bilap . [10]

The cast also includes Rajatabha Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee, Syed Hasan Imam, Atul Sharma and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film is produced by OT Ltd Productions The film is a remake of 2015 Telugu movie Subramanyam for Sale. The film was released in India on 20 April 2018. And Released in Bangladesh on 27 April 2018. The film received generally positive reviews from critics. It topped the box office in its opening week.

Projapoti (transl. butterfly) is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language family drama film directed by Avijit Sen, produced by Atanu Raychaudhuri, co-produced by Dev and distributed by SSR Cinemas. The film features Dev himself, alongside Mithun Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar, Koushani Mukherjee and Shweta Bhattacharya in lead roles. The movie was theatrically released on 23 December 2022 and had its digital premiere on the streaming platform ZEE5 on 14 April 2023. It received a blockbuster verdict at the box office. Made on a budget of ₹1.5 crore, it grossed over ₹13 crore and became the highest grossing Bengali film of 2022 and the third highest-grossing Bengali films of all time.

Haami 2 is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language comedy film directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. The film is produced by Windows and is distributed regionally by the same. It is a sequel to Haami (2018), which also addressed the issues of modern-day parenting. The film has a child actors cast.
