Raavan is a 2022 Indian Bengali-language vigilante action thriller film written and directed by MN Raj marking his directorial debut [1] and produced by Jeet, Gopal Madnani and Amit Jumrani under the banner of Jeetz Filmworks. It stars Jeet in the titular role alongside, Lahoma Bhattacharya (in her debut), Tanusree Chakraborty, Shataf Figar, Kharaj Mukherjee and Biswanath Basu in the lead roles. [2] The film is partially adapted from the Indian epic Ramayana .
The soundtrack of the film was composed by Savvy,The Red Kettle while the background score was by Anbu Selvan.The action sequences were designed by Ravi Varma, with dance choreographed by Imran Sardhariya.
Raavan was theatrically released on April 29, 2022 during the festive season of Eid, clashing with Dev starrer Kishmish . [3] The film was a super-hit at the box office and successfully ran more than 180 days in theatres. It received mostly positive reviews from the critics, praising Jeet and Figar's performance, mind blowing twists, slick and massy action sequences with the realistic dialogues. Jeet's signature dialogue from the film, "Raavan kshama kore dite shuru korle, Ramayan abar notun kore likhte hobe" (If Raavan starts forgiving, the Ramayana will have to be redefined) became favourable amongst the audiences.
The plot revolves around several gruesome murders took place in Kolkata, like of the editor of a newspaper, a corrupt MLA involved in women trafficking and an indrustialist, all of them credited to be involved in corruption. The format of these crimes are considered to be none other than serial killing, as all of these were done by a killer named Raavan. On the other hand, the assigned lady police officer Sumaiyaa Jahan investigates the case and suspects a Professor Ram Mukherjee to be the killer as he resembles Raavan. [3]

Shamayita.Chakraborty of the The Times of India reviewed the film and gave it 3 out of 5 stars and wrote "Such brutality is not often seen in the Bengali film spectrum. Raavan is for those who love action and have an appetite for violence. Jeet as Raavan will not let them down." [3] Sangbad Pratidin and Ei Samay both rated the film 3.5 stars out of 5. [7] [8] [9]
Jeetendra Madnani, mononymously known as Jeet, is an Indian actor, film producer, singer, entrepreneur and television presenter known for his work in Bengali cinema. He owns the production houses "Grassroot Entertainment" and "Jeetz Filmworks". He is the Executive Secretary of "West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum" and is one of the few actors known for doing commercial action films in Tollywood.

It revolves around a man (Jeet), who vows to take revenge in order to give his father a new life. The film was to release on 14 May 2021, but got postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic aftermath. It was released on 10 October 2021 coinciding with Puja holidays.
