C.S. Jha (born 1934) was an Indian engineer,professor,and academic administrator. He served as the 18th Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University from 1991 to 1993. [1] [2]
Jha obtained B.Sc. in physics from Patna University,and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Bristol University. [1]
Jha later went on to serve IIT Delhi as an assistant professor in 1962,from where he retired in 1994. In that period C. S. Jha went on to become Dean of Engineering at IIT Delhi(1966–69),Director of IIT Kharagpur(1974–78),education (technical) advisor to the Government of India (1979–84),and Vice Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (1991–93). Upon retirement in 1994,Jha was appointed as the chairman of the Recruitment &Assessment Centre of Defence Research and Development Organisation. [1]
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a collegiate,central,and research university located in Varanasi,Uttar Pradesh,India,and founded in 1916. The university incorporated the Central Hindu College,founded by Indian Home Rule-leaguer and Theosophist,Annie Besant in 1898. After Besant and her associates were marginalised,the university was established by Madan Mohan Malaviya with the support of the maharaja of Darbhanga Rameshwar Singh,the maharaja of Benares Prabhu Narayan Singh,and the lawyer Sunder Lal. With over 30,000 students,and 18,000 residing on campus,BHU is the largest residential university in Asia. The university is one of the eight public institutions declared as an Institute of Eminence by the Government of India. It is also one of the 12 institutions from India in BRICS Universities League,a consortium of leading research universities from BRICS countries.
Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi(IIT-BHU) is a public technical university located in Varanasi,Uttar Pradesh,India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College,it became the Institute of Technology,Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was later designated an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012. IIT (BHU) Varanasi has 16 departments,3 inter-disciplinary schools and 1 Humanities &Social Sciences Section. It is located inside the Banaras Hindu University Campus.

Kota Harinarayana is an aviation engineer. He was born in Brahmapur. He was appointed as chairman of the board of governors of IIT (BHU),Varanasi by Hon'ble President of India on 25 August 2020 for three years. He was the vice-chancellor of the University of Hyderabad and the president of the Aeronautical Society of India.

Patcha Ramachandra Rao was a metallurgist and administrator. He has the unique distinction of being the only Vice-Chancellor (2002–05) of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) who was also a student (1963–68) and faculty (1964–92) at that institution. He was president of the Indian National Congress two times and the founder of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha. He was addressed as Pandit,a title of respect,and also as Mahamana.

He has written extensively on Public International Law,Human Rights,Humanitarian Law,Refugee Law,International Space Law,Intellectual Property Law,International Institutional Law,International Environmental Law and Legal Education.
The vice-chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (VC-BHU) is the chief administrator,and a full-time salaried officer of the Banaras Hindu University. The vice-chancellor derives their powers from sections 7(B) and 7(C) of the Banaras Hindu University Act and from the statutes of the said act.

Onkar Nath Srivastava was an Indian material physicist,an Emeritus professor of Banaras Hindu University and the vice president for India and South Asia of the International Association for Hydrogen Energy,who was known for his contributions to the disciplines of nanotechnology and hydrogen energy. He was the author of two books and over 440 scientific papers and a recipient of several honors including Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize,the highest Indian award in the science and technology categories. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri,in 2016,for his contributions to science and engineering.
Sandeep Verma is an Indian bioorganic chemist and chemical biologist,and a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology,Kanpur (IITK). At IITK,he heads Sandeep Verma's Research Group in the areas of ordered peptide assemblies,metal-mediated nanoscale systems,programmable soft matter for neuronal regeneration,novel antimicrobials,and small molecule-stem cell modulation. He is an elected fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA),the Indian Academy of Sciences,the National Academy of Sciences,India,and the Indian National Academy of Engineering. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research,the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research,awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology,one of the highest Indian science awards,in 2010,for his contributions to Chemical Sciences.

He holds the Emeritus Chair from the East of the Integrated East-West Forum at The Science of Consciousness Conferences since 2012. He is the chairman of Advisory Committee on Education,Dayalbagh Educational Institute.

Sudhir Kumar Jain is the incumbent and 28th Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University. He is a civil engineer by education and has formerly served three terms as the founding director of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar. He has carried out intensive research and development in the fields of seismic design codes,dynamic of buildings,and post-earthquake studies. Beside these,Jain has actively participated in teaching,research activities and development in earthquake engineering focused on developing countries. He is an elected fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering. He was also elected a member of U.S. National Academy of Engineering (2021) for leadership in earthquake engineering in developing countries.
