C. Ramachandra Menon was a South Indian cinematographer known for more than 150 films in Malayalam and Tamil. [1] He was the cinematographer for the film Ummachu , based on the novel of the same name, and is known for his work on Eeta and Ningalenne Communistakki . He frequently worked with Sreekumaran Thambi, P. Bhaskaran and Kunchacko on films in Malayalam.

Personal life and career

He was the son of P. K. M. Raja of Thiruvannoor Kovilakam and Chengalath Janakiyamma in 1929 at Kozhikode. He worked with Markus Bartley; Masthan; and Malli Irani at Vahini Studios, Chennai. In 1956, he went to Singapore. There, he worked with Singapore Television for around six years making Malay films. He returned home in 1970 and worked at Udaya studio. [2] He was married to Manchapora Malathi, and had two children: Maya Harigovind (married to Chengalath Harigovind) and Dr. Goutham Menon (married to Dr. Maureen Rubin). He died on 9 May 2017. [2]

Ashok Kumar (cinematographer) Indian cinematographer

Ashok Kumar Aggarwal was an Indian cinematographer who worked mainly in the South Indian film industry. In a career that spanned nearly four decades, he worked in over 125 feature films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. Aggarwal was a member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC).

P. N. Sundaram was an Indian cinematographer and director who worked in over 250 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi film industries. Hailing from a lower middle class family, he struggled in his early years and started working early in life. He started his career as a camera assistant at Vijaya Vauhini Studios in the 1950s and later assisted A. Vincent in cinematography. He was one of the founding members of Film Employees Federation of South India and served as the president of the South Indian Cinematographers Association. Sundaram has also directed a few films including seven in Malayalam. Kolilakkam is one of his best known films in Malayalam. Jayan, who was the lead actor in the film, died in a helicopter accident during the shooting of its climax.

K. P. Udayabhanu was an Indian playback singer and music director, mainly in Malayalam films. In 2009, he was awarded the Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian honour.

<i>Odiyan</i> 2018 film by V. A. Shrikumar Menon

Odiyan is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language fantasy drama film directed by V. A. Shrikumar Menon in his feature film debut. The film was written by Harikrishnan; it is based on the legend of the Odiyan clan, who in Kerala folklore are men believed to possess shapeshifting abilities and can assume animal forms. Odiyans are said to have inhabited the Malabar region of Kerala before the widespread use of electricity. The film stars Mohanlal in the title role, alongside Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier; it was produced by Antony Perumbavoor through Aashirvad Cinemas.

Anandakuttan was an Indian cinematographer who worked predominantly in Malayalam cinema. He was known for handling the camera for over 150 films including His Highness Abdullah, Bharatham, Kamaladalam, Sadayam, Chronic Bachelor, Akashadoothu, Harikrishnans, Punjabi House and Aniyathipraavu. He died in 2016, at the age of 61.
