CBC Sport is an Azerbaijani sports-oriented television channel owned and operated by SOCAR through its media wing, SOCAR Public Media Union. Originally launched as a web channel on 9 August 2015, it was later launched as a linear television channel. [1] It is a sister channel of CBC, competing with state-owned Idman Azerbaijan TV. CBC Sport is headquartered at Babak Avenue in Baku. [2]
Plans to launch a dedicated sports channel came after CBC won the rights to broadcast the Azerbaijan Premier League in early August 2015. Although CBC primarily broadcasts in Russian alongside some other foreign languages, the games were broadcast with Azerbaijani commentary before the launch of CBC Sport. [3] [4] [5] It was launched exclusively on the internet on 9 August 2015. [1] Later on 8 September, the National Television and Radio Council granted CBC Sport a license through a non-competition special consent, allowing the channel to broadcast nationally over the air for six years. [6] [7]
CBC Sport commenced experimental broadcasts on 1 October 2015 in the high-definition format, [8] being the first television channel in Azerbaijan to do so. [1] [6] The test broadcasts were only receiveable in certain areas. [9] CBC Sports began official broadcasts as a linear channel on 1 November, becoming the second sports-oriented television channel in Azerbaijan after Idman TV. [1] [6] It later began broadcasting using the Azerspace-1 satellite after an agreement was signed between the channel and Azercosmos. [10] [11] Its license to broadcast was later upgraded to being indefinite by the council on 21 December 2015. [12]
AzTV or Azerbaijan Television is a state-controlled national television channel in Azerbaijan. It is the oldest television channel in the country, having first broadcast from Baku on 14 February 1956 in what was then the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union.

Nakhchivan Television, also known as Nakhchivan TV or NTV for short, is an Azerbaijani regional terrestrial television channel owned and operated by the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It broadcasts from and serves the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, going on the air in 1963 as the first regional television channel in the country.
Kanal 35 was an Azerbaijani public television station broadcast from and serving the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. It was launched on 14 July 2004 and operated under the umbrella of the Ministry of Communications and New Technologies of Nakhchivan. It was established as a tribute to former Azerbaijani president Heydar Aliyev. Kanal 35 later became a unit of the education ministry of the republic. It ceased operations on 15 May 2023.

Xazar TV is headquartered in the Baku White City in the Khatai raion of Baku. It is a part of the Xazar Media Center.
Real TV is an Azerbaijani national terrestrial news-oriented television channel founded by Mirshahin Agayev, who is the co-founder of now-defunct ANS TV. It was launched on 15 March 2018 and is owned by Real Analysis Information Center. Real TV is headquartered in the Narimanov raion of Baku. The channel is considered to be the successor of ANS TV due to the number of similarities, although a Baku State University professor assured that it is a different network altogether.
MTV Azerbaijan, 'MTV' being the acronym of Muz TV, is an Azerbaijani satellite and cable music-oriented television channel. It initially launched as an internet-based television channel on 11 May 2012 and later began broadcasting via satellite in 2017. Despite its name, the channel has no connection with the American cable television channel MTV, and instead was launched as the local feed of Russian music channel Muz-TV. MTV Azerbaijan is headquartered at Tbilisi Avenue in Baku. It is the first music-oriented television channel in Azerbaijan.
Space TV is an Azerbaijani national terrestrial television channel launched on 12 October 1997. It is headquartered at Hüseyn Cavid Avenue in Baku. Space TV is sister to Space 104 FM, both of which are owned by the Space Independent Television and Radio Company.
