CBC Sport is a sports channel operating in Azerbaijan. [1] It began test broadcasts from Baku on October 1st, 2015 and began main broadcasts on November 1st, 2015. The channel is owned by SOCAR Media. [2] [3]

History

Shortly after its first broadcast on November 1st, 2015, CBC Sport quickly became the second most popular sports channel in the country after Idman TV. It was the 10th national TV channel in Azerbaijan.

On September 8, 2015, the Azerbaijani national Television and Radio Council granted CBC Sports LLC by the requirements of Articles 7 and 15.1 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 345-IIQ of June 25, 2002 “On Television and Radio Broadcasting”. A decision was made to issue a special permit (license) for 6 years out of competition for the broadcasting of a national sports television channel on the frequency of 37 MHz. [4]

New Hellenic Radio, Internet and Television or NERIT (ΝΕΡΙΤ) was the state-owned public broadcaster for Greece from 4 May 2014 to 11 June 2015.
