The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) is a college athletic conference in the Midwestern United States that participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The current CCHA began play in the 2021–22 season; a previous incarnation, which the current CCHA recognizes as part of its history, existed from 1971 to 2013. Four of its nine members are located in the state of Michigan, with three in Minnesota and one each in Ohio and South Dakota. It has also had teams located in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Nebraska over the course of its existence.
The Mason Cup is the trophy awarded to the champion of the CCHA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, the postseason championship event of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association, an NCAA Division I college ice hockey league. The Cup was awarded from 2001 until the original CCHA folded at the end of the 2012–13 season.
The CCHA Tournament is the conference tournament for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), an NCAA Division I men's ice hockey conference that originally operated from 1971 to 2013 and has been revived effective in 2021. The Miami RedHawks men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio. The RedHawks are a member of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), starting play in the conference's 2013–14 inaugural season. Prior to the NCHC, from 1980 to 2013, the RedHawks were a member of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) until the original CCHA disbanded in 2013. They play in Steve "Coach" Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center.
The 1996–97 Michigan Wolverines men's ice hockey team represented the University of Michigan in intercollegiate college ice hockey during the 1996–97 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season. The head coach was Red Berenson and the team captain was Brendan Morrison. The team played its home games in the Yost Ice Arena on the University campus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The team finished first in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season, won the CCHA Tournament and qualified for the Frozen Four of the 1997 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament.
The 2010–11 Michigan Wolverines men's ice hockey team was the Wolverines' 89th season. They represented the University of Michigan in the 2010–11 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season. The team was coached by Red Berenson and played their home games at Yost Ice Arena, although they took one regular-season home game against archrival Michigan State to Michigan Stadium, drawing the largest crowd in the sport's history. The team earned the 2010–11 Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) regular season championship and advanced to the Frozen Four of the 2011 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament. Following the CCHA season, the team announced that they intended to move from the CCHA to the newly formed Big Ten Conference Hockey League in 2013.
The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) is an NCAA men's Division I hockey conference for teams in the Midwestern United States. The league was formed on July 9, 2011 and began playing for the 2013–14 season, the same season that the Big Ten Conference began competition, as a combination of six previous members of the WCHA and two of the CCHA. The league is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The 2013 CCHA Men's Ice Hockey Tournament was the 42nd Central Collegiate Hockey Association men's ice hockey tournament, and also the last for the original version of the conference. The tournament was played between March 8 and March 24, 2012, at campus locations and at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. The tournament was won by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish—winning the Mason Cup and earning the CCHA's automatic bid into the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament.
The CCHA Player of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season to the best player in the conference as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team. The award went on hiatus after the original CCHA was disbanded after the 2012–13 season, and was reinstated when the league resumed play in 2021–22.
The CCHA Best Defensive Defenseman is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) regular season to the best defensive defenseman in the conference as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team.

The Terry Flanagan Memorial Award was an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season to the player who best demonstrates perseverance, dedication and courage while overcoming severe adversity as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team.
The CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year was an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular season to the best scholar in the conference as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team. Faculty representatives select the player, who must have at least a 3.25 GPA through the end of the fall semester, who will be named as the scholar-athlete for each team in the CCHA with each nominee being eligible for the conference award.
The CCHA Most Valuable Player in Tournament is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association conference tournament to the most valuable player in the championship, as voted by the coaches of each CCHA team.
The 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season began in October 2013 and ended with the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Tournament's championship game in April 2014. This was the 67th season in which an NCAA ice hockey championship was held, and the 120th year overall in which an NCAA school fielded a team.
The NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference regular season to the best defensive forward in the conference as voted by the coaches of each NCHC team.
