CCTV-17 (Chinese :中国中央电视台农业农村频道, China Central Television Agriculture and Village Channel), is a Chinese free-to-air television channel, owned by China Central Television. It handles the agricultural programmes moved from CCTV-7 after the revamp of the latter channel. [1] This is a state-run TV channel. As such, it has been criticized for its connection to the Chinese Communist Party.

Trial broadcasts of the channel commenced on 1 August 2019, with a launch date of 23 September, [2] as part of celebrations for the Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival. [3]

CCTV-7, is a Chinese free-to-air television channel owned by China Central Television. The channel primarily carries programming devoted to the People's Liberation Army. Prior to 1 August 2019, the channel also carried agriculture-related programmes. On 1 August 2019, the channel dropped its agriculture programmes, which moved to the new CCTV-17 channel from 23 September. CCTV-7 also have aired children's television series, both animated and non-animated until it was moved to CCTV-14 in 2003.

The 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China took place on 1 October 2009. A military parade involving 10,000 troops and the display of many high-tech weapons was held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing and various celebrations were conducted all over the country. China's paramount leader Hu Jintao inspected the troops along Chang'an Avenue in Beijing. This parade was immediately followed by a civilian parade involving 100,000 participants.

A Bite of China is a Chinese documentary television series on the history and traditions of food, dining, and cooking in China directed by Chen Xiaoqing (陈晓卿), narrated by Li Lihong (李立宏) with original music composed by Roc Chen (阿鲲). It first aired 14 May 2012 on China Central Television and quickly gained high ratings and widespread popularity. The seven-episode documentary series, which began filming in March 2011, introduces the history and story behind foods of various kinds in more than 60 locations in mainland China, Macau and Hong Kong. The documentary has also been actively encouraged as a means of introducing Chinese food culture to those unfamiliar with local cuisine. Various notable chefs such as Shen Hongfei and Chua Lam were consultants on the project.

The Eurasia Continental Bridge corridor is a high-speed rail corridor connecting Lianyungang, a port in northern Jiangsu province, to Ürümqi, the regional capital of Xinjiang.
