The CEO Dancers is a London-based trio of female dancers and choreographers who rose to recognition following their performance at Britain's Got Talent 2013 which saw them reach the semi-final of the competition. [1] [2]

Background

Formed during their university days, the group is made up of Ezinne Asinugo, Soliat Bada and Nqobilé Ntshangase. [3] [4] In 2013, the group auditioned for the seventh series of Britain's Got Talent and went on to reach the semi-final following performances that left Simon Cowell impressed, thereby increasing the group's fanbase with Metro's Seamus Duff listing them at #5 on his list of "Britain’s Got Talent’s Top 10 Sexiest Acts". [5] The CEO Dancers have worked with the likes of Rihanna, Drake, Wizkid, Davido, D'Banj, Stefflon Don, Iyanya, Awilo Longomba, Tiwa Savage, P-Square among other notable acts. [6]

Their main style of dance originates from Africa. Individually their styles range from Street Dance, Vogueing, Contemporary to Dancehall. [7]

The group credit their major inspirations from classic artists like Fela to modern contemporary artists like Fally Ipupa. [8]

Film appearance

In 2016, Ezinne and Soliat made guest appearances in the dance film The Dance Movie Project which premiered on 23 July 2016. [9] [10]

Simon Phillip Cowell is an English television personality, entrepreneur, and record executive. P-Square Nigerian R&B and hip hop duo

P-Square is the defunct music duo consisting of the twin brothers, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye. They produced and released their albums through Square Records. In December 2011, they signed a record deal with Akon's Konvict Muzik label. In May 2012, P-Square signed a record distribution deal with Universal Music Group. On 25 September 2017, numerous media outlets reported that the group disbanded. Reports about a breakup surfaced after Peter reportedly sent a termination letter to the group's lawyer. Prior to this report, the duo disbanded in 2016, supposedly over a disagreement about the role of their manager.

Syco Entertainment is a British multimedia entertainment company, headquartered in both London and Los Angeles, founded and owned by British entrepreneur and record executive Simon Cowell. The company operates several divisions including a record label, talent agency, and TV and film production as well as publishing. It was initially divided into three units: Syco Music, Syco TV and Syco Film. The company was formed in 2005 through Sony Music Entertainment entering a joint venture by purchasing Cowell's shares of his record label S Records and television company Syco Television. In 2009, Sony and Cowell entered a joint venture agreement that covered the joint ownership of Syco's television formats which include the Got Talent and The X Factor franchises. Until 2020, the company operated high profile television and music projects with Sony Music labels around the world and television production company Fremantle. <i>Got Talent</i> Television talent show franchise

Got Talent is a British talent show TV format conceived and owned by Simon Cowell's SYCOtv company. It has spawned spin-offs in over 69 countries, in what is now referred to as the 'Got Talent' format, similar to that described by Fremantle of the Idol and The X Factor formats. Unlike those shows, Got Talent showcases several artistic disciplines in addition to singing. In April 2014, the format was named the world's most successful reality TV format ever by the Guinness World Records.

The seventh series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 13 April to 8 June 2013; because of England's international friendly with the Republic of Ireland that year, the show took a break on 29 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match. Because of the work schedule of Stephen Mulhern, host of Britain's Got More Talent, filmed auditions had to be pushed back to mid-January that year, while no guest judge was brought in despite the absence of Simon Cowell for an audition session. Following the previous series, the programme's format was given a minor amendment - the cash prize offered to winners was reduced to £250,000 from this series onwards.

Ashleigh and Pudsey British dog trick act

Ashleigh and Pudsey was a British dog trick act, comprising trainer Ashleigh Jade Butler and Pudsey, a male Border Collie, Bichon Frise, and Chinese Crested powderpuff cross. They achieved prominence as contestants in the sixth series of the television talent show Britain's Got Talent, which they won on 12 May 2012, becoming the first dog trick act to win the competition.

Mavin Records

Mavin Records is a Nigerian record label founded by record producer andjhg recording artist Don Jazzy on May 8, 2012. The label's inception came to fruition following the closure of Mo' Hits Records, a record label owned by the aforementioned producer and D'banj. The label is home to recording artists such as Korede Bello, Dr SID, D'Prince, Di'Ja, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, DNA Twins, Rema, Ayra Starr, 6xSlatt and Crayon. It also houses producers such as Jazzy himself, Altims and Baby Fresh. In 2014, DJ Big N became the label's official disc jockey. Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Reekado Banks and Iyanya were all formerly signed to the label. On May 8, 2012, the label released its compilation album Solar Plexus. In January 2019, Mavin Records secured a multi-million dollar investment from Kupanda Holdings, a subsidiary of Kupanda Capital and TPG Growth.

D'Kings Men is a compilation album by recording artists of Nigerian record label DB Records. It was released on June 24, 2013, by the label and Sony. The album was produced by Don Jazzy, Jay Sleek and Dee Vee. It features guest appearances from Kanye West, Big Sean, Snoop Lion, Fally Ipupa, Durella, Olamide, Ikechukwu and Naeto C. D'Kings Men produced eleven singles—"Oliver Twist", "Sister Caro", "Oyato", "Bachelor", "Top of the World", "Cashflow", "Don't Tell Me Nonsense", "For Example", "Finally", "Why You Love Me" and "Obimo ". It received mixed reviews from music critics, who panned its lyrics and sound.

"Don't Tell Me Nonsense" is a song by Nigerian singer D'banj. It serves as the seventh single from the album D'Kings Men (2013), a collaboration between members of D'banj's label DB Records. "Don't Tell Me Nonsense" peaked at number 1 on Afribiz's Top 100 Music Chart. Moreover, it peaked at number 1 on MTV Base's Official Naija Top 10 Chart from September 13 through September 19, 2013. The song also peaked at number 21 on YFM 99.2's Y Urban Top 40 chart.

Iyanya Nigerian singer

Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, known by his stage name Iyanya, is a Nigerian Afropop recording artist and performer. He rose to fame after winning the first season of Project Fame West Africa and is best known for his hit single "Kukere". He co-founded the record label Made Men Music Group with Ubi Franklin in 2011. He released his debut studio album My Story in 2011. It was supported by the singles "No Time" and "Love Truly". Desire, his second studio album, contained five singles: "Kukere", "Ur Waist", "Flavour", "Sexy Mama", and "Jombolo". He won the Artist of the Year award at The Headies 2013. In October 2016, Iyanya announced on Instagram that he signed a record deal with Mavin Records. Few months prior, he signed a management deal with Temple Management Company. He first announced his intentions to leave Made Men Music Group in July 2016.

Desire is the second studio album by Nigerian singer Iyanya. It was released on February 6, 2013, by Made Men Music Group. The album's production was handled by Tee-Y Mix, D'Tunes, Mr. Chidoo, GospelOnDeBeatz and Young D. The album features guest appearances from M.I, Wizkid, D'banj, Emma Nyra, Tiwa Savage, Flavour N'abania, May D, Vector, Tekno and Yung L. Kukere

"Kukere" is a song by Nigerian singer Iyanya. It was released as the lead single from his second studio album, Desire (2013). Upon its release, the song peaked at number 1 on Top FM's May Chart, Soundcity's Viewers Choice, Rhythm FM, and The Beat 99.9 FM's Blackberry Top Ten Countdown. Moreover, it peaked at number 2 on Radio Port Harcourt. CEO Dancers performed the song during their performance on Britain's Got Talent. To further promote the album in London, Cokobar and Iyanya held the Kukere Queen Competition. Participants of the competition were asked to upload a dance video of themselves and state three reasons why they deserve to win.

Sexy Mama 2013 single by Iyanya

"Sexy Mama" is a song recorded by Nigerian recording artist Iyanya featuring Nigerian singer Wizkid for the former's second studio album, Desire (2013). It was issued to digital retailers as the album's fifth single on 6 February 2013, coinciding with the release of the parent album, through his label Made Men Music Group. Written by both of the two musicians, "Sexy Mama" was solely produced by D'Tunes. It is a dancehall and dance-inspired track that contains lyrics pertaining to a man's interest in a girl he met at a club.

Flavor (Iyanya song) 2012 single by Iyanya

"Flavor" is a song recorded by Nigerian recording artist Iyanya for his second studio album, Desire (2013). It was released as the record's third commercial single on 10 November 2012 through Made Men Music Group, a record label he co-owns with his manager, Franklin Ube. Written by the singer and produced by long-time collaborator D'Tunes, "Flavor" is a highlife and pop-influenced song. It features Iyanya questioning his lover through repetitive lyrics.

Finally (Dbanj song) 2013 single by Dbanj

"Finally" is a song recorded by Nigerian recording artist D'banj for the compilation album, D'Kings Men (2013). The song serves as the tenth commercial single from the album, which features collaborations between members of D'banj's DB Records label. The track premiered at a promotional event for the record, which was headlined by several Nigerian artists, including the singer. Solely written and produced by D'Banj himself, the recording is an EDM and pop song with lyrics predicting that any girl will beg for D'banj's love and compassion.

Kaffy

Kafayat Oluwatoyin Shafau, popularly known by her stage name Kaffy, is a Nigerian dancer, choreographer, dance instructor and fitness coach. She is also the founder and owner of Imagneto Dance Company. She is best known for breaking the Guinness World Record for "Longest Dance Party" at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon in 2006.

The tenth series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 9 April to 28 May 2016. To celebrate nine years of the show, the final featured a special performance entitled "Best of Britain’s Got Talent", which featured several participants who had appeared on the show during the previous nine series, including Ashleigh and Pudsey, Attraction, Diversity, Jon Clegg, Stavros Flatley, Collabro and Spelbound. It was the last series to have its live episodes broadcast at The Fountain Studios before the site's closure that year.

Rachel Akosua Funmilola Garton was born on 20th January, 1991. She is professionally known as Lola Rae; a Nigerian-born singer and dancer of Ghanaian and British descent. She gained recognition following the release of her debut single "Watch My Ting Go", which received critical acclaim and thus earned her a nomination for the Most Promising Female Act to Watch at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
