The CI.MAR Shipyard (Cimolai-Mariotti) is a shipbuilder based in San Giorgio di Nogaro, Udine, Italy. It is a joint venture between T. Mariotti (a Genoa-based shipbuilder) and Cimolai (a steel manufacturer). [1] The ship's hulls are built at the CIMAR Shipyard and then towed to T. Mariotti's shipyard in Genoa to be completed. The journey to Genoa usually takes around ten days. [2] Often the hulls are floated down the Corno River on a smaller barge, due to the narrowness of the river.

History

Cimolai S.p.A. opened its San Giorgio di Nogaro fabrication plant in 2003. Initially the plant made steel pipes but the facility began making ship hulls in 2007 [3] as part of the joint venture. The yard's first ship was Seabourn Odyssey in July 2007. [4]

Costa Victoria was a Victoria-class cruise ship launched in 1995 and operated by Costa Cruises, a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation & plc, from 1996 until 2020. Built at Bremen, Germany, she was designed to reflect the spirit of Italy, which was enhanced in a 2013 refit. During her service with Costa she operated in many areas, including Asia. In June 2020, in light of the economic impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Costa Victoria was moved to the Port of Piombino, Italy and decommissioned. She was sold in December 2020 for possible conversion to worker's accommodation at a Genoa shipyard, but resold for demolition in Turkey, where she arrived on 28 January 2021.

MV <i>Seabourn Odyssey</i>

MV Seabourn Odyssey is a cruise ship for Seabourn Cruise Line. The ship's keel was laid at the CIMAR Shipyard in on 15 July 2007. Its hull was the first one built at the brand new shipyard. Seabourn Odyssey was outfitted at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy. When it was commissioned in 2009, it was the first new ship for Seabourn in over a decade. The ship was completed in May 2009, a few weeks earlier than planned. The ship undertook sea trials on 22 May 2009 and the naming ceremony took place in Venice, Italy on 24 June 2009. Seabourn Odyssey was delivered by T. Mariotti on 29 June 2009 and was reported to have cost 550 million euros.

CargoMax is a stability and load management software application for marine and offshore industries. It is developed and sold by Herbert-ABS Software Solutions, LLC. First released in 1979, CargoMax was one of the first computerized systems for planning and evaluating ship loading; it is currently one of the most-used software applications for this purpose. It helps determine cargo loading sequences by calculating stability and stress based on ship models created from vessel data: lightship weights, hydrostatic characteristics, tank data, and allowable shear forces and bending moments. Naval architects and engineers from Herbert-ABS customize each CargoMax installation using shipyard drawings and technical data. Different installations also include different sets of features from the program.

MV <i>Seabourn Sojourn</i> Cruise ship

Seabourn Sojourn is a luxury cruise ship chartered and operated by Seabourn Cruise Line. It is very similar to Seabourn Odyssey. The ship was ordered for building in the shipyard of T. Mariotti S.p.A. in Genoa Italy. She is the flagship of Seabourn.

MS <i>Koningsdam</i> Cruise ship operated by Holland America Line

MS Koningsdam is a Pinnacle-class cruise ship operated by Holland America Line (HAL), a division of Carnival Corporation & plc. Koningsdam is the lead vessel of HAL's Pinnacle class, which includes Nieuw Statendam (2018) and Rotterdam (2021), all of which were built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. Two years after the first steel was cut in February 2014 to commence construction, she was delivered to HAL in March 2016 and began operating the following month. At 99,863 GT, she became the largest ship ever commissioned for HAL upon her delivery.

The McDougall Duluth Shipbuilding Company was a large-scale wartime ship manufacturing shipyard, located at the city of Riverside, near Duluth. McDougall Duluth Shipbuilding was at 110 Spring Street, Duluth, Minnesota, now the site of the West Duluth's Spirit Lake Marina. The shipyard was located on St. Louis River Estuary at western part of Lake Superior. McDougall Duluth Shipbuilding Company was founded by Alexander McDougall (1845-1923) in 1917 to build ships for World War I. McDougall Duluth Shipbuilding Company and the Superior Shipbuilding Company were called the Twin Ports shipbuilding industry of Minnesota and Wisconsin. <i>San Giorgio</i>-class destroyer Destroyers of the Italian Navy

The San Giorgio class was a class of two destroyers of the Italian Navy. They entered service in 1955, with the last one being decommissioned in 1980. Formerly Capitani Romani-class cruisers of the Regia Marina during World War II, they were rebuilt as destroyers during the Cold War. San Giorgio was the first to enter service in 1955 and was modified again from 1963 to 1965 to become a training ship until 1980. San Marco was scuttled by the Germans after the incomplete ship fell into German hands following the Italian Armistice. Following the war, the vessel was raised, rebuilt and renamed and entered service in 1956. San Marco served until 1971.

T. Mariotti S.p.A. is an Italian shipbuilder based in Genoa, Italy. The company specializes in building small cruise ship - mainly focused on the luxury market, superyachts and offshore vessels. The company also does refits of ships and yachts. T. Mariotti employs roughly 1,000 people.

<i>Seabourn Venture</i> Cruise ship

Seabourn Venture is an ultra-luxury expedition cruise ship operated by Seabourn Cruise Line. The ship's hull was built built by the CIMAR Shipyard in San Giorgio di Nogaro and outfitted at T. Mariotti in Genoa. Its keel was laid in December 2019 and in March 2021 the hull was towed to Genoa to be completed. Sea trials began in April 2022 and the ship was delivered to Seabourn Cruise Line on 28 June 2022 in Genoa. It is Carnival Corporation's first expedition cruise ship.
