The Cabangu Museum (Portuguese : Museu de Cabangu) is a museum in the town of Santos Dumont, Brazil. It is dedicated to the memory of Santos Dumont, the "Father of Aviation". [1]

Contents

In the house, personal objects, photos and the aviation museum are still preserved. In the Museum are also deposited the ashes of the first woman pilot of the Brazilian aviation, Anésia Pinheiro Machado.

Financial problems

The Museum has been suffering from lack of cash, labor debts and inability to maintain and restore content. The institution even tried to make crowdfunding, but has been closed a few times for lack of funds. [3] [4]

It lies at an elevation of 839 m (2,753 ft) just off the main interstate highway, BR040, between the urban centers of Barbacena (north) and Juiz de Fora (south). It is 240 km (150 mi) from the state capital, Belo Horizonte, and 220 km (140 mi) from Rio de Janeiro. It became a city in 1889.

Estádio Municipal Paulo Machado de Carvalho, colloquially known as Estádio do Pacaembu, is an Art Deco stadium in São Paulo, located in the Pacaembu neighborhood. The stadium is owned by the Municipal Prefecture of São Paulo. The National Museum of Brazil is the oldest scientific institution of Brazil. It is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where it is installed in the Paço de São Cristóvão, which is inside the Quinta da Boa Vista. The main building was originally the residence of the House of Braganza in colonial Brazil, as the Portuguese royal family between 1808 and 1821 and then as the Brazilian imperial family between 1822 and 1889. Santos Dumont Explaining His Air Ship to the Hon. C.S. Rolls is a short film made using a sequence of frames that shows the Brazilian inventor and pioneer aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont explaining the operation of his airship to Charles Rolls, the future founder of Rolls-Royce. It was filmed while Santos-Dumont visited London between 22 and 28 November 1901 and was screened on 3 December the same year, at London's Palace Theatre.

The Santos Dumont Collection, also known as Alberto Santos Dumont Collection, is a collection of about 1,500 items linked to Santos Dumont, under the guard of the Museu Paulista. The collection includes several types of material, including texts, objects and iconographies of the Brazilian inventor, in particular 323 images about the aeronautical trajectory of Santos Dumont. It is one of the best known funds of at least 123 that make up the Coleção do Museu Paulista. The collection was donated by the family after the inventor's death in 1932.
