Cahide Eke (born 25 January 2000) is a Turkish visually impaired judoka (disability class B3) competing in the +48 kg division. She won the bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Paralympics held in Paris, France. [1]
Eke started performing para judo at the age of 15 when she met a judo coach during the opening ceremony of her high school. After two-month training, she took part at the Turkish Championships, and became winner. [2] She was then admitted to the national team.
She is a member of her local club Karaman GSK, [3] [4] and competes in the 48 kg J2 division. She has five Turkish champion titles. [2]
In April 2018, she competed in the -48 kg division at the IBSA Judo World Cup in Antalya, Turkey, and in September, at the IBSA Judo World Cup in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. She secured 5th place in both tournaments. [5] [6] In December, Eke made history as the first blind Turkish judoka to face sighted opponents in a local competition in 2018. [7] [8]
On May 13, 2019, she participated in the -52 kg event at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Baku, and placed 7th. [9] In September of the same year, she achieved 5th place in the -52 kg event at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix in Tashkent. [10]
In July 2019, she competed in the -52 kg event at the IBSA European Judo Championships in Genova, Italy, and took the fifth place. [2] [11]
In 2022, Eke competed in the -48 kg event at the IBSA World Championships in Baku, finishing in 5th place. [12] The following year, she took part in the same event at the IBSA World Championships in Birmingham, England, where she achieved 5th place once again. [13] In 2023, she also participated in the -48 kg event at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix Baku, and placed 5th. [14]
In February 2024, she won the bronze medal at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix Germany in Heidelberg. [2] [15] For the Paralympics, she exercized at the Olympics Preparation Center in Kastamonu. [2] She competed at the 2024 Summer Paralympics held in Paris, France, and won a bronze medal in the women's 48 kg J2 event. [1] [16]

She is visual impaired at 90% visual acuity loss, almost blind, due to congenital albinism. [2]

Charline Van Snick is a Belgian retired judoka who won bronze in the women's 48 kg judo at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She also earned a bronze medal at the 2010 European Judo Championships and a silver medals at the 2012 and 2013 European Judo Championships.

Uta Abe is a Japanese judoka who competes in the Women's half-lightweight division. She won the gold medal in the Women's 52 kg competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics and two silver medals in a row with the Japanese team in the judo mixed team events at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics. Abe is also a four-time world champion, having won the gold medal in her weight category at the World Judo Championships in 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.
Cherine Abdellaoui is an Algerian Paralympic judoka. She won the gold medal in the women's 52 kg event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. She also represented Algeria at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and she won a bronze medal in the women's 52 kg event.
Larissa Cincinato Pimenta is a Brazilian judoka. A two-time Olympian, she won the bronze medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. At the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima, Peru, she won the gold medal in the 52 kg event. She is also a five-time gold medalist in her event at the Pan American Judo Championships.
Chelsie Giles is a British judoka. She won the gold medal in the women's 52 kg event at the 2022 European Judo Championships held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
