Para Judo at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France took place between 5 and 7 September. There were eight events each for both men and women according to their weight categories and, for the first time, their disability class. Several weight events had been dropped from Tokyo 2020 to accommodate the class separation, designed to make the event fairer and more inclusive. [1]

World Ranking List starts from 1 September 2022 to 24 June 2024. An NPC can enter an eligible athlete if the athlete has competed in at least one international sanctioned IBSA competition. [2] [3]

The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) is a non-profit organisation founded 1981 in Paris, France. It was formerly known as the International Blind Sports Association. B1 is a medical-based Paralympic classification for blind sport. Athletes in this classification are totally or almost totally blind. Some other sports, including adaptive rowing, athletics and swimming, have equivalents to this class.

Nazan Akın Güneş is a Turkish visually impaired judoka competing in the +70 kg division. She won the silver medal at the 2012 Paralympics and the bronze medal at the 2024 Paralympics.

Para judo is an adaptation of the Japanese martial art of judo for visually impaired competitors. The rules of the sport are only slightly different from regular judo competitions. It has been part of the Summer Paralympics program since 1988 for men and 2004 for women.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Judo at the 2016 Summer Paralympics</span> Judo competition

The Para Judo competition of the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held in Hall 3 at the Carioca Arena inside the Olympic Training Center in Barra cluster between 8 and 10 September. There were 13 events, corresponding to seven weight classes for men and six for women, and a total of 132 athletes will compete. At the Paralympics, judo is contested by visually impaired athletes.
