Paracanoeing at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France took place at Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium, the same venue that hosted rowing. This was the third appearance of the paracanoe in the Summer Paralympics. There was five canoe sprint events for both men and women, three in kayak and two in va'a in each category. [1] [2]
100 slots (50 male, 50 female) are allocated. An NPC can earn a maximum of one eligible canoeist quota per medal event and a maximum of five male and five female quota slots in total. However, the NPC can enter up to two athletes in an event if an athlete has qualified in one boat (Kayak or outrigger), but is also eligible for the classification in the other type of boat in which a different athlete has won a quota. Paracanoe is canoeing for athletes with a range of physical disabilities. The Paralympic version of the sport is governed by the International Canoe Federation (ICF), and a va'a-specific variant is governed by the International Va'a Federation (IVF).
France competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7 September to 18 September 2016. The first places the team qualified were for four athletes in sailing events.

This event, which is part of the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in non-Paralympic years, took place as a standalone competition in order to accommodate athletes seeking to qualify for the 2024 Paralympic regatta. It shared the venue with, and was held concurrently with the 2024 European Canoe Sprint Qualifier and Szeged leg of the 2024 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup.
