Cambodia, officially the Kingdom of Cambodia, is a country in the southern Indochinese Peninsula in Southeast Asia, spanning an area of 181,035 square kilometres, bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the north, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. The capital and largest city is Phnom Penh.
Education in Japan is managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan. Education is compulsory at the elementary and lower secondary levels. Most students attend public schools through the lower secondary level, but private education is popular at the upper secondary and university levels. Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), formerly KIIT University, is a private deemed university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. It primarily emphasizes on higher education and research in engineering and science. It offers 34 undergraduate, 32 postgraduate, 10 integrated, 11 Ph.D and 7 postdoctoral research programmes in the fields of science and engineering, medical science, management, law, film and media, humanities and yoga and sports. The admissions for B.Tech. programmes are mainly based on merit as per the results in KIITEE exam, although there are management quota seats which are filled by paying higher than normal admission fees.
International University is a private higher education institution specializing in medicine and medical science. Established in 2002, IU is recognized and nationally accredited by the government of Cambodia, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC). International University education standards are recognized by transnational medical institutions such as the Asia–Europe Foundation, Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL), UN World Health Organization - including accreditation with the United States-based Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) and International Medical Education Directory (IMED) enabling medical school graduates to take the three complete steps of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and on successful completion can register for physician residency and practice medicine in the United States. The medium of instruction used at IU are English and Khmer.

The ACC was established in Phnom Penh in March 2003 under the supervision of the Council of Ministers chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Sok An to develop the standard of education in Cambodia.
The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is a private higher education institution in Prague, Czech Republic. It was established in 1998 in cooperation with the State University of New York at New Paltz and Empire State College, both part of the State University of New York (SUNY). Sachchidanand Sahai is an Indian epigraphist, writer and the scientific advisor to the Government of Cambodia for restoration of Angkor Wat and the Temple of Preah Vihear, known for his knowledge on Khmer civilization. He was honored by the Government of India, in 2012, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
